One afternoon I got a call.

One miserable afternoon.

Sirens.

Usually not a very good sign. All I remember was rushing through traffic, trying to get to the hospital's ER as quickly as possible. Then waiting in the waiting room for hours.

Having to sit next to her nervous husband for hours. It made everything ten times worse. But her friend got there an hour after me. We kept each other company.

------. She had been driving home. An almost empty car. Only one passenger. Her. She collided on an intersection with two other drivers. One teen boy trying to get home. Ther other, a middle-aged alcoholic. Severely drunk. But she and her car were affected the most.

When the paramedics got there, it was worse then expected. They had to pull her out of the crushed car using the 'jaws of life'. Not good.

Her limp body, barely breathing and badly damaged, was rushed to the nearest hospital via ambulance.

We waited three hours only to be told we had to wait another two.

Then the doctor came.

At the moment, only two visitors were allowed, he had explained to us.
