After a vigorous weekend of training, both Grey and Magenta had learned a lot. Grey had taught her all he knew about the different summons, which was a lot. By the end of it, she'd been educated on the different types and how to use them. Meanwhile, Grey had asked about the Duel Zone, and about what it meant to be a psychic duelist. She'd taught him how to initiate a duel, or how to teleport, which in Grey's opinion, was much cooler that the summoning techniques, though he wasn't really able to do it. By the end of it, Grey felt that he had a better understanding of his new powers.

However, that didn't mean he got to use them. He was able to summon constructs of his monsters, interacting with them, but what he wanted was a test of strength. Magenta was able to assist in that, but dueling her again and again began to prove repetitive. With so few psychic duelists on earth, the chances of Grey getting a chance to have a real duel didn't seeming likely.

Grey's original life started to set in again. School didn't help in any way. All he could think about during his classes was his cards. He'd brought them to life, but now he had to go back to being himself. Monday and Tuesday only made him wonder if he'd ever find anyone interesting to fight.

"GooD MoRNIng USER Grey."

Yellow Gadget had apparently taken it upon itself to help Grey get out of bed in the morning. He had to admit, there was nothing like the sight of a giant machine monster to help wake him up. This would be the only time he really got to spend some time with his monsters since his parents always left early for work.

"WOuLD yOU LikE SomE breAkFaST?"

"No, that's alright. I'll just grab something on the way out."

"HavE a GOOd dAY at SchOoL."

The yellow monster dispersed; the particles floating into Grey's watch. It was convenient to have his duel disk built into it, but it also served as a constant reminder of his lack of an enemy. Grey got an apple and walked off to school. It was another sunny day in Jewel City. A few kids were walking towards the school. Peter came up from beside Grey, carrying his backpack.

"Hey, so where were you all weekend. Were you busy or something?"

Grey had neglected to look at his phone while he was out training with Magenta, though he wouldn't tell that to Peter.

"Yeah, I was busy."

"That's what you keep saying. I don't know why I always ask."

"I don't know either."

That was how a majority of their conversations went. Peter would try to get him to come out his shell, but it would hardly ever work. They got to school on time and started the daily routine once again. The monotonous classes made Grey sleepy. By the time lunch rolled around, he was ready to go home. He took a tray and went out to the game field, sitting in the far secluded corner. He finished his food then sat still, looking down at his watch. A small glowing light in the corner that hadn't been there before meant that his duel disk was ready to go. Grey slumped over, saddened by the light. He just wished for something to happen.

"ATTACK HIM DIRECTLY!"

Grey looked up just as an explosion shook the ground beneath him. He moved to his feet quickly. Several screams came from the other side of the field. His jaw dropped as he looked out at the spectacle currently happening in front of him and several other students. A girl with long flowing hair and a long green dress stood over a boy with short red hair. He looked badly beaten, gritting his teeth as he struggled to stand. The girl smiled down at him maliciously.

"Stay down. I won, so now you're my slave."

"N-No..."

Hanging off their arms were familiar devices. Their duel disks stuck out like strange blades. The girl's looked like it was made of vines and leaves while the boy's was made of fire and molten rock. From the expression on her face and what she'd said, Grey figured she was bad news. Also, he didn't want anyone to be anyone's slave. He needed to step in and help.
