Ellie's P.O.V

I was casually laying down on my bed while Lottie was talking to me while she was laying down on her bed. We both kinda just starred at the ceiling while talking.

" I mean I don't understand, how can a person write with one hand and eat a banana in the other- it doesn't make any sense!" Lottie threw her hand up in the air in frustration.

" I swear you and me have the weirdest conversations." I laughed. She giggled a little.

" Hey, so why were you crying when I came back to our room? Did Jamie say something mean to you!? Where is he I'll kill him right now!" Lottie laughed a little.

" Ellie! I just wasn't feeling well, that's all! My head hurt and so did my lip."

" Okay then, why were you two on the floor?"

" I, uh, fell? I honestly don't remember what happened, I was just on the floor crying." she is such a bad liar. But I'm glad, because then it's harder for her to tell when I lie about eating a bunch of chocolate!

" Okay." we were silent for about a minute.

" Hey," I said.

" Hey," she said.

" Lola told me that Rosewood is hosting a school ball. It's so that the Cornwall students get a taste of what its like to attend a ball." I could hear Lottie stop breathing. She finally started breathing again when she got up and started rummaging in her closet.

" Formal full length ball gowns that fit dress code!"

" Thanks! When is this happening!?"

" In three days!" I pointed at her.

" Well get up off your bed and pick something out before you forget! I'll ask Binah, Lola, and Anastacia if they want to come over here before the dance so we can all get ready!" UGH! I don't wanna! I walked over to my closet and looked for any ball gowns.

" Um, Lottie?"

" Yes Ellie?"

" Um, the only black ball gown I have in black has a bunch of rips and tears in it."

" WHAT!?" right as she said that we heard a crack of thunder fill the air, I caught a glimpse of lighting to. Jumped and yelped. Then we could hear pouring rain.

" Nooo! It can't rain-STORM!" Lottie whined. I took one step back before she spoke again.

" Ellie I swear if you go and dance in the rain again, I'll jump off the balcony."

" I hate you." I said bluntly.

" You love me and you know it!" she laughed, that is true. Lottie is like the sister I never got to have. I had to be stuck with Jamie for the first 14 years of my life, but when I was in the year of turning 15 I got to room with Lottie. Best birthday present EVER! Even though I was rooming with her before I turned 15, but whatever. She stopped laughing.

" You okay?" I asked.

" I'm... I'm not sure if I actually want to go, now that I think about it." WHAT!?

" Who are you and what have you done with Lottie!?"

" I'm still me, but... Ollie's gonna be there. I don't want to go if he's there. He is still my old best friend, but he used to always make jokes about everything, now he is just so cold and kinda angry at me." I'm gonna kill him, I'll even let Jamie help.

" Lottie! Just stick by Jamie and I, or even our friends in general! Just please don't let me suffer alone!" I whined. Lottie laughed.

" Why don't you hang it out with me? We can make some popcorn in the student kitchen and eat in here! Besides, we can hang in our pajamas instead of stuffy ball gowns!" she's definitely not okay.

" Lottie. I will wear a ball gown so big that I won't be able to fit through the biggest doorway in this school if that means you'll go.  I'm not even joking. I will even wear bright. Neon, Fickin'. Pink."

" With glitter?" she smirked.

" With glitter."

" Pink glitter and not black glitter!?"

" Now your pushing it!" I jokingly said.

" Come on! Get your dress picked out, the storm isn't gonna end any time soon."
