Part 2 of Middle

Tay and I have talked about a lot of things during our off days together. Also I have decided that she would be my partner during work hours. Had to wait a few days for the permission. Plus Tay catches on quick. She has able to assemble a basic energy gun under 5 minutes.

It was after a grueling a day of work. We had to fix some wiring of tanks. Luckily they could converted from small to big size. Pretty fascinating how far we have come with technology.

We head over to the cafeteria, which is basically a school cafeteria. Even though I haven't been to school in a while. Still reminds me of it for some reason.

I was peacefully eating my burger which taste so good. I would die for it. Then a hand slammed on the table where Tay and I were sitting at.

First I set down my food so it won't get ruined. Then I stand up and turned to the person who slammed their hand on the table.

It turned out to be Claire, who is the top girl of the prison. As being a prisoner herself. We were friends of sort.

"What is it Claire?" I asked crossing my arms.

She smiled a bit too sweetly. "What happened to my friend?"

"Which one?" I asked, because she has a ton of friends. "Is it Jeanne? Carol?"

She tilted her head before answering. "No, Issac."

I stared at her before I grabbed Tay's arm to get us out of the cafeteria. I turned my head to look back at Claire. "Can you put our food away for us?"

"I won't need to do that when it happens!" She yelled, as I drag Tay away.

After we have gone to our cell. I plopped Tay down on her bed, then I went to my bed. Pulled the mattress up to reveal a box. Quickly pulling it out.

I set it up by Tay who was looking at me silently. I sigh knowing she wants answers.

"If you want to know why." As I opened up the box, revealing a scanner. It's the type that disable the function of using your Gen, but I added a little something that disable every function of the armband. "It's because Issac that person you have heard during my talk with Claire. It means bad news. Here this will disable the functions of the armband. But I'm not sure it will work."

She asked something as I finish setting the scanner up. Blinking on a blue light letting me know it's working perfectly fine. I scanned over her armband quickly. 

I hit against the scanner to make it work. These things never work when they supposed to. 

A beep was sounded the scanner. I quickly read over the screen, reading the disabled functions. Knowing that it works.

"What did you say Tay?" I asked her. This time setting up the scanner for my armband.

"I asked you, what about you Brittany?" She said, while looking a bit frustrated. That I totally get because I have been ignoring her for a few minutes. 

Then I looked up at her. "What do you mean 'what about me?'" 

"Meaning that are you gonna escape too?" She asked while holding eye contact with me.

I shook my head, as I scan the armband on my arm. "I can't come with you."

"What do you mean you can't Britt!" She yelled making me flinch. I don't even know where that came from, and she looks taken back by it. "I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"It's fine." I said in response, as I read the scanner seeing the disabled function. 

"But please can you escape with me?" She begged.

I put down the scanner and looked to her. I cupped my hands around her face and brought our foreheads together. "I haven't been society in a long time. I had to fend for myself. I just can't. Taylor."

Then I felt her hands wrapped around my wrists. "I will be with you every step of the way. Besides your Gen combine with mine we can escape faster."
