"This is the start of something beautiful" -Ed Sheeran
Saturday couldn't come soon enough, and it seemed like an eternity to Louis, whom hadn't even been texted by the busy older man since when he asked him out. He was now dressing in a pair of nice(well, the nicest pair he owned), of jeans and a white button down that he had bleached half a dozen times to make it the pure white color that it was then. He hopped around his room to get his jeans on, making sure they sat comfortably over his tummy before tucking his button down shirt in. He brushed his fringe across his forehead, making it look feathery and soft.
He pulled on his newest pair of toms(about a year old, but Louis took good care of them) before quickly brushing his teeth. He smiled widely at the mirror before slipping out of his tiny bathroom, and into his front room. He walked across the dirty carpet that never seemed to get clean no matter how much he scrubbed and vacuumed it. A deep sigh escaped his lips as he furrowed his eyebrows, popping a slice of spearmint gum into his mouth. There was soon a knock at the door, and Louis quickly bounded over to it and opened it.
"Hi," Louis said softly when he saw Harry standing there, wearing a pair of black slacks and a black button down. He almost fainted when Harry grinned, revealing his dimples as he said, "Hello, Louis. You look dashing," he offered his arm to the younger and smaller lad, leading him from the ratty apartment building after making sure his door was locked. Louis was quite ashamed at how his home looked, and the neighborhood it was in, but it was all he could afford.
Harry led him out to his car, and Louis gasped softly when he saw it. It was a fucking black Ferrari, and Louis was flabbergasted. He knew Harry must've had money, but now he knew he was loaded, and that made Louis feel even worse. He smiled softly at Harry when opened the door for him, and he slipped inside, buckling his seatbelt before watching Harry climb in. He let out a sigh of relief when Harry didn't mention his apartment, and relaxed into the seat as the older man began to drive. "Your car is gorgeous," he said softly after a moment, running his hand over the leather on the seat.
Harry flashed a wide grin over at Louis, "Thank you, Louis." He said before focusing back on the road. He pressed a button on the steering wheel and the car was filled with classical music, the cello prominent. "Do you like Yo Yo Ma?" He asked softly, the music calming him greatly as he relaxed against his seat a bit. Louis nodded softly. His father used to listen to him when he drove Louis to school.
"Yeah, he's good." Louis said softly, though it wasn't really is cup of tea. He mostly liked upbeat artists like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and some acoustic artists such as Ed Sheeran, but this music was also calming him greatly. He rested his hand on his stomach, rubbing small circles into it with his thumb. His eyes slowly drifted shut as him and Harry grew silent, but it was a nice silence.
Next thing he knew, the car was parked and the classical music was turned off. Louis smiled and opened his eyes, looking over at Harry, "I take it we're here?" He asked, and upon Harry's nod, he opened his car door and unbuckled his seatbelt, climbing out slowly. He blushed when Harry came around and offered his arm, which he took, and walked inside of the fancy restaurant with him. He looked around in awe, his lips slightly parted as he took in the high ceiling, large chandeliers, nice carpeting, and the tables with white tablecloths and candles decorating them. A small orchestra played a Bach piece, and all in all, Louis quite liked the place.
"Reservation for Styles," Harry said formally, moving to wrap his arm around the smaller lad and flash a smile at him. "Yes, come this way," The waiter said in a posh tone, eyeing Louis's jeans before leading them back to a table. He gave them their menus, "What would you two gentlemen like to drink?"
Louis's eyes scanned over the leather-bound menu quickly, gently turning the pages. "Uh, a--," Louis began, but Harry cut him off. "A bottle of your finest red wine." He said, resting a hand on Louis's. The waiter nodded and walked back to the kitchen.
"I-I, I can't have alcohol." Louis said softly, blushing lightly as he felt Harry rub soothing circles into the spot where his thumb met his forefinger. "I've done a little research, and I read that a bit of wine is fine, even good for the baby." Harry said softly, "So it'll be fine, the baby'll be fine. Promise," he assured quietly.
Louis blushed and nodded, "Okay," he whispered, nibbling on his bottom lip. After the waiter came back again and got their orders(Harry ordered Louis a Crispy Chicken Parmesan and one for himself as well), he popped the cork on the wine and poured it into the long-stem glasses until they were about half full before setting the bottle into the bucket of ice again before leaving.
Harry smiled, "Try it, Louis." He said, his hand was still on Louis's, whom nodded slowly. He hesitantly picked his glass up with his free hand and took a sip, his eyes widening as the flavor washed over his taste buds. He swallowed slowly, savoring the flavor as he slowly flashed Harry a smile, "It's, um, really good." He said softly, taking one more sip before setting his glass down. Harry nodded and took a sip of his own.
"How far along are you, Louis?" Harry asked a bit later, tilting his head to the side curiously as he gently nudged Louis's left tom-clad foot with his expensive dress shoe. "About a month and a half, almost two." He told him softly.
Harry smiled warmly at Louis and nodded, "I think that's lovely. It's astonishing how amazing life is," he explained softly, a sparkle in his eyes. "My sister, Gemma, is pregnant as well, but she's about to her due date. It's amazing feeling the baby kick and stir beneath her skin, but she didn't like people touching her too much." He said, drawing on the back of Louis's hand with his thumb. Louis nodded along, listening to Harry's slow drawl of a voice and watching his plump lips move.
"Yeah, I can't wait," Louis said softly, smiling at the thought of his little baby kicking inside of him, "I can't wait to find out if my little bug is a boy or a girl, too, so I can start attempting to buy things for it." He hummed, taking a sip of his wine with his free hand. Harry nodded along as their food was brought to them.
Later, around ten, Harry and Louis were outside of Louis's apartment door, standing face to face. "Thank you for taking me out. I had an amazing time," Louis said, giving Harry a wide, crinkly-eyed smile. Harry smiled back, his dimples showing, "It was all my pleasure, Louis. You're great company," he replied. He soon departed, but not before pressing a soft kiss to Louis's cheek.
Louis may or may not have hopped on his bed and squealed into his pillow.
