Every 50 years there is The Taking or in other words TheWolves Hunt. A pack of savage beasts would take 15 humans and lead them to the forest to run. Basically, it was a sick and twisted cat and mouse game.
If you were caught you were shredded to pieces instantly. If you were lucky enough to not get caught, then your life would end not too long afterwards. They would track you down and make you their prisoner or you'll die on sight.
(A/N- Just to clear up the confusion, by 'your life would end' I mean that your life is basically over because you would become enslaved and no longer have control over your own life.)
This so called arrangement was made to keeping peace between humans and wolves- but allowed wolves to get their revenge at the same time.
About 200 years ago there was a war between us and them. Many of us became hunters and created machinery to defend the human race.
As the war came to an end, many lives were lost, the beasts taking most of the casualties. 'TheFeral King' as they would call him, went on a rampage and killed any humans that he spotted.

His hate for humans ran so deep that he killed his adoptive family, his lover, and his best friend.
As it got down to the last 50 humans, they pleaded and begged for their lives to be spared. Saying that they'll do anything to survive at any cost.
And so the King decided to make an offer, 15 humans would be sacrificed every 50 years in order for their lives to be spared.
The humans agreed and from that point on every 50 years 15 humans would have to meet up at the border. And from there, the king picks 15 humans of his choosing.
The moment the moon begins to turn red, the beginning of the end begins.
