Kohaku stood on the top of a building, the wind flowing through her mousy brown hair.
" Bet you can't jump that gap." She shouted at her, let's say...sort-of boyfriend person, Nami. She had met Nami at the mall around one year ago, and they had stayed together since. After they had a catastrophic first date, Kohaku was head-over-heels for him, but she was too afraid to pursue it, though she knew damn well he liked her back.
" Bet what?" He asked, walking up behind her. Nami hugged her around the waist and twirled her. Kohaku screeched.
" Don't do that! We could fall!" Kohaku took a deep breath before weaseling out of his grip.
" We'll be fine. I brought you up here so I could test out my grappling belt. If you fall, I'll grab you with it." Nami dismissed her with a small wave of his hand.
" Nami. I do not trust that thing to save you, much less myself, from a fall." Kohaku folded her arms and glared.
" Is that so?" Nami asked her.
" Go jump off a rooftop," Kohaku said.
" Okay." Nami chuckled. He started backing up. " If that's what you want."
" Do it, pussy. Bet you won't." Kohaku made the cat-surrounded-by-knives expression.
Nami rolled his eyes and ran his hands through his black hair. He was seriously contemplating jumping off the roof to prove a point. He had his belt to save him, but what if his invention failed?!
" See. You thought." Kohaku smirked. " Now come over here. We're getting takeout and I know you just got a paycheck."
Nami rolled his eyes, before looking back at the rooftop. He took a deep breath.
Kohaku was internally screaming " Please don't please don't I'm joking you hardass."
Nami brushed his hair from his face before walking toward Kohaku. He threw an arm around her and started walking.
" Where do you want to go, darling?" He asked her.
" Mmm...I'm thinking...whatever's open at three a.m." Kohaku grabbed her purse. Nami jumped across a short rooftop gap and held his arms out to catch Kohaku.
" I'm not a child, Nami." She said. Nonetheless, she landed in his arms and he twirled her.
When they finally got to the roof of Nami's apartment, he opened the little door that led to the stairs.
" I'm glad you have so much free time," Nami said, smiling. " Are you ready for another raid?"
" Hell yes. Where are we going tonight? The gas station was too easy. They just gave us money and snacks and didn't even call the police." Kohaku said.
" I was thinking that we step it up," Nami said. He pulled out a little map of the downtown area.
" This isn't as safe. I like it." Kohaku chuckled. " Are we robbing where I think we're robbing?"
" Mmhm. The Haditoshi Bank. But we're not stealing from the poor people, we're going for the main vault. All the money that bank has stolen from our citizens." Nami said.
" Would we consider ourselves vigilantes?" Kohaku asked.
" Barely," Nami started, putting the map into his pocket. " I'm pretty sure we've caused enough property damage to put us into crippling debt for the rest of our days on earth."
" Doesn't like...college do that too?" Kohaku asked him.
" Yes it does, not that I've been or will ever go—" He reached up and grabbed a small object off his mantle. " I graduated early and I do not want to go back to an academic setting ever again."
