Chapter 13: Valentines' Day

A week before valentines' day, final exams are approaching.  Valentines' day will fall exactly on the last day of your exams. You don't usually care or notice this day because of course, you have zero love life.

In these past few days, you and Jinhwan have been so busy. You are preparing for your exams and Jinhwan is busy for their promotion for their comeback. You missed him but he's way too busy.

While having a break, you looked at your phone and there's still no message.

What keeps him so busy that he can't even respond to my messages?

Your classmate, Haru, came.

"Hi Jihyo. Are you done studying?" She asked.

"Not really. I'm just havin' a break right now. Why?" You asked her.

"By the way, Jinhwan was your bestfriend right? (You nodded) Valentines' day is approaching, uhm I know that he will reject but can you setup a blind date of him and I? There's no harm in trying. I've been his avid fan since WIN. Please?" She begged.

Oh, yeah Valentines' day is coming and I didn't notice it.

"Uhmm, ok. But I can't promise because he's not even responding to my messages these past few days because he's been busy." You said.

"Ok, thank you Jihyo! I'll go ahead, bye!" She said and left you.

Suddenly, you received a message. It's from Jinhwan.

"Hi Jihyo! Can we eat dinner at your apartment? I'm sorry that I didn't get to answer your messages lately because I was busy." He messaged.

"Ok. Just bring food. I'll be heading home later maybe 6pm, I'll just finish studying." You replied to him and he said ok.

At 7pm, Jinhwan and you arrived at your apartment almost at the same time. He brought some food.

"What keeps you so busy these past few days?" You asked him while unpacking the food he brought.

"We're busy on our comeback." He said and munch some dumplings.

"Uhmm, Jinhwan, did you know that Valentines' day is approaching?" You asked him.

"Yeah, why?" He asked.

"Uhmm, my classmate asked me if I could set both of you up for a blind date. Are you in?" You asked him nervously. You knew you don't want him to ask this but you've already agreed with Haru.

"Are you selling me to your friends?" He asked seriously.

"No. I don't even want you to go with her." You said.

"Ok. Then tell her that I will date you on Valentines' day." He confidently said.

"What?!?! I mean are you serious? And why?" You asked him, still surprised with what he said.

"Why? Don't you like it?" He asked.

"Of course I don't like. We're not dating to do that." You said.

"Not all who date during Valentines' day were dating. Friends can date." He explained.

"Oh, ok." You have no choice but to agree.

"I'll ask our stylist noona to do your hair and make up and buy you nice clothes." He said.

"For what? I have my own clothes." You said.

"For you to look better. And it's your first time to date during Valentines' day right? So you should look better. You have no choice, I already messaged our stylist." He said.
