Shadowhunter's PoV

Shadow yawned as she woke up peacefully, standing up and stretching her wings. Her tail lifted and went a bit straight as her wings spread to their full length, then went normal a few seconds after. Her changing scales stayed normal, as they always did after she would doze off under the sun.  She started to wander around when she heard something rustling behind her, like lighter talonsteps, she just didn’t know why. “Who’s there?” She questioned, tired with surprise dragons trying to kidnap and kill her. When no one answered her she turned to see a slightly shorter MudWing behind her, and it seemed like they just wanted to cause trouble. “And who are you?” Shadow asked slowly, facing the MudWing as her tail swept slowly behind her. The MudWing still gave no answer. Something was wrong, and Shadowhunter knew it. “Are you even going to talk?” she asked, starting to worry. Just stay calm, Shadow. Don’t panic, or that’ll make it worse she thought to herself, trying, and failing, to stay calm. She hadn’t seen the slight movements of the MudWing moving towards her, but they were closer than before. In one swift and unexpected moment, the MudWing leaped forward and tackled Shadow to the ground. “What in the moon's?!” Shadow yelled as she squirmed underneath the MudWing. She growled but was only pressed down harder, completely stuck despite the MudWings size. “Help!!’ she shouted before her snout was covered.
“Shut it, hybrid,” The MudWing growled, seemingly male. Like I could say anything now anyway, Shadow thought to herself with a mental eye roll. Her eyes hurriedly scanned the area when she she saw it. A flash of pitch black scales at what she could see was the top of the mountain. It’s him, I know it, she thought as she squirmed under the MudWing. They never vanished from her sight as they quickly turned into a dragon soaring down the mountainside. Nightscale landed quietly, and the MudWing never noticed. It was almost as if Nightscale was looking for the best way to solve this, when he suddenly jumped forward and knocked the MudWing off of her. Because of his size, Nightscale quickly pinned the MudWing down.
“What in the moons are you doing?” he growled to the MudWing, who didn’t say anything. It was two long minutes of silence when they both knew this MudWing wouldn’t talk, or maybe couldn’t, but they didn’t know that the MudWing was deaf and just looking for trouble. Nightscale sighed, and let the MudWing run, and he flew quite quickly to get away. Then he turned to Shadowhunter. “Are you..?” he started and she understood immediately.
“Yep! That’s me, thanks for saving me, names -” she was cut off as he finished her sentence for her.
“Shadowhunter, And I’m Nightscale Xavier Dunick, though everyone calls me Nightscale,” he said, and Shadow noticed the glow to his eyes. Don’t be distracted, don’t be distracted, we have things to do, Shadow she thought to herself as she suddenly saw a piece of paper, well two, with him.
“Can i see those?” she asked, and he nodded. Shadow quickly read over the note first, then gasped at what she saw at the bottom. “No. No no no there is no way she did this. She would’ve told me!” She said quickly, shocked and not quite understanding.
“Uh, who?” Nightscale asked, walking over and looking over her shoulder, confused.
“The one who wrote the notes. You seriously didn’t see the name?” Shadow questioned as she pointed at the name on the paper. “She’s my best friend ever, and I honestly don’t believe that this was her,” Shadow explained a bit.
“Maybe she was keeping you safe? If this was me writing to one of my friends if it kept them safe I wouldn’t have said anything,” he said honestly to her.
“I mean,” Shadow thought a moment but realized she would probably do the same. “yeah I’d do the same, this just is such a shock,” she said. With a small sigh, Shadow handed back over the note when she saw the other paper. "Wait…this is different from mine,” Shadow commented to herself.
“Didn’t It say that in the note? Here lemme see your half,” Nightscale said as she handed it over. We’ll figure this out, we have to Shadow thought to herself as they scanned both of them. “Wait… I know what it is. We’re going to be going on quite the trip then,
“What’d you mean quite the trip? Isn’t it only to the Kingdom of Sand so we can deal with this SandWing?” Shadow asked, extremely confused. Her head was spinning and she hated being so confused.
“That’s what was false in it, I hope,” He said, but focused his thoughts and continued. “There may be an IceWing in this, but right now I’m not all that sure,” he explained. Shadow could feel her changing scales flashing quickly with a pale green as she sat down, her head still spinning. She tried to calm her racing mind, but It didn’t quite work so she sat with her heads in her talons. When she felt Nightscale sit next to her she didn’t really move, she just kept trying to calm herself down. “You alright?” he asked as she tried shaking her head no.
“My head hurts and my mind’s racing, I just need a minute or two so I can calm down.” Shadow explained, quite quickly in fact as she slowly started to rub her forehead.
“That’s alright, just breathe,” he said softly. Shadow tried to nod as her thoughts slowly calmed down. Don’t let this distract you Shadow, you have a job to do, she thought once she was fully calm and her head didn’t hurt.
“Thanks, I needed that,” Shadow said but then stood up. “but now we have a job to do,”
