we still didn't know...

School’s starting again.
I don’t really know if I’m supposed to be excited or not.

Maybe I am;

A lot of new teachers this year, yet so many familiar faces,
As they all hugged one another, talking about their summer break;
Smiling, overwhelmed by the joy of seeing familiar faces.
I stood awkwardly as they all beamed at each other.
Batting eyelashes looking up, seeming to be relishing each moment of getting back together.

The first day seeped in quickly,
Introductions, lots of them was all I can remember.
Laughter as our class joker made jokes,
Jokes that I sometimes didn’t get.
As I got lost in my own world. Alone.
I was used to it though.

The taste of lavender and laughter,
If laughter even had a taste.
I imagined it being strawberry flavored bubble gum,
Lasting for just a short while.
Soon, we will all be busy dream-searching.
Making something out of ourselves as we all got busy.
We all separate, going to different places,

Our separate ways.

We remember those days.
That carefree sensation where ignorance could still be bliss.
And laughter that tasted of bubble gum.
At least we relished every single drop of the moment.
Living, laughing, loving;
Promises we couldn’t keep.
“I love you” was an easy phrase to say back then.
When we were all still oblivious of what love really was.
And to this day, we still didn’t know.
We still didn’t know...

Hey! Sorry for another hiatus! Been busy with exams lately but hopefully I'll make it up with this one! Wrote it a while back and I thought I'd finally post it!
