The kid was weird, this whole mission was weird and it just kept getting weirder, we were searching for the kid again since Nick was furious that we had failed the first time to detain him so he told us to look for him again and bring him in but Thor for some reason (again) had to go up to Asgard so we didn't have any help from The God of Thunder, which we could of used, seen as the kid beat us up and handed us all our asses with little to no trouble in doing so.
I'm still pissed that he knocked me out using one of Clint's tranq arrows
We had been searching for about three hours now and had gotten nowhere and now it was starting to rain like the heavens literally opened and we were about to give up and go back to the Tower the search was getting us absolutely nowhere -- except maybe soaking wet -- when we saw the kid walking on the opposite side of the road, one hand his pocket and his face was sullen and looked broken but the weirdest thing was that the rain seemed to be going around him and he didn't seem to be getting wet
I signalled the team and we all watched him as he walked across the road, looking over his shoulder once before he walked up to the golden gates of a cemetery, he muttered some words in a different language before dropping something into the water and the gates slid open letting him in. Both me and Cap were able to slide into the gates before they closed again and no matter how hard we tried to open the gates to let the others through, they wouldn't open they were locked but they didn't look locked
We continued through the strange cemetery hanging back away from the kid so he didn't know we were there, watching him, there were hundreds of possible thousands of gravestones lining the earthy floor and with each one that the kid passed he looked more and more broken like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulder, he suddenly stopped when he got to the middle of the graveyard and broke down " I-I'm so sorry guys I couldn't save you, it should be me down there with all of you, not you, you lot had so much to live for and I have lost everything, I honestly don't know why I'm nod dead with you guys" He laughed without humour and that scared me
Who was this kid?
"Plenty of people have tried, I mean even Uncle Z did" He continued casually like it was a regular occurrence. Maybe Fury was right about this kid? Maybe he was a terrorist...But he's so young...
I looked to Cap scared and he looked back mirroring my expression and it was decided that Cap would go and talk to the kid while I waited here in case he decided to attack again seen as we had no backup hidden behind the shadow of one of the insanely built but creepy statue of a young girl around the kid's age with grey eyes
"Hey kid, why are you here?" Cap asks the kid and instead of answering him he looked to the sky and muttered some curses that didn't seem to be English and the sky rumbled causing me to jump I wasn't expecting thunder even if it was raining
The kid stuck his tongue and muttered something under his breath scared that he was going to go into attack mode I creeped out and hid behind a closer statue, this one of a dragon and a dark-skinned girl with jewels surrounding her, what were these statues out and the sky rumbled again and it seemed to rain more but the kid just ignored it and went back to looking at someone's gravestone, it was too far away for me to see who but Cap just looked up at the sky confused
The kid then glared at Cap harshly and even though it wasn't directed at me I still felt scared "How did you get in here?" He asked his tone clipped and void of emotion
"What do you mean? We saw the cemetery and you in it and it looked like you needed help" Cap tried his best to softly explain but the kid looked like he was having none of it and a small scoff escaped his lips, he didn't look like he meant to do it though
"I don't need your help thanks" He snapped bitterly
"Look we don't want to hurt you" Cap tried again softly but I could tell his patience was wearing thin as he let out a long breath "We just want to ask you a few questions"
The strangest thing happened then, the kid looked like he was trying to calm down before his head hit the grass and his glazed over eyes snapped shut and I raced over to Cap and shouted: "Okay what the hell was that?" I looked over to Cap who looked just as about as clueless as I did, he was talking with Cap one minute and the next his eyes were glazed over and it looked like he was having some sort of PTSD attack...But then what can a kid have a PTSD attack from? But then again he did say many people wanted to 'kill' him. This kid makes no sense
"I don't know Tony but we need to get him back to the Hellicarrier and get Bruce to check him over" He sighed and then tried to pick up the kid to take him back to the Hellicarrier but he ended up getting punched in the eye as the kid let out a scream and whimpered "Annabeth"
Annabeth who was that?
I looked over to the gravestone that Cap was looking at and escribed on to the headstone was the words Annabeth Chase fierce warrior and loyal friend and on the gravestone was a single grey flower, one of the flowers that the kid was carrying earlier
It took the two of us, to detain him from blindly lashing out and to carry him back to the team where we all took him back to the Hellicarrier before we went back to the S.H.I.E.L.D base to question the kid
