MEANING OF SONG
I think the beginning is about how simple and good childhood can be. I think that "now the memories are on the wall" means that his father is dead and his child home is gone. Memories on the wall could be pictures.
I also think It's about how life changes when you fall in love for the first time and looses the girl. Then life becomes serious compared to the simple childhood.
His father said "don't you worry child, see heaven's got a plan for you." This makes me feel good. It makes me picture a wise old man who loves his son and want him to just accept life as it is.
