[3rd person, amy's perspective]

amy's eyes flutter open as she feels a slight shift in the soft mattress beneath her. the morning light from outside streams softly through a crack in the blinds, barely lighting their rather small apartment. as the new sergeant started to gaze around the dimly lit apartment, her mind began to wonder amongst the sounds of cars and sirens. memories of last night repeat in snapshots, the one that catches her attention the most is jake crying.

he never cries, not a lot anyway.

"but there is a bomb at this wedding, your butt. your butt is da bomb". this stupid quip caused jake to cry slightly, telling her she's his dream girl. the thought alone made amy's heart swell.

god, brooklyn is not a quiet city. her thoughts are interrupted by the sounds of cars honking loudly outside. but that's not surprising. amy hears her stomach whine for food, maybe she should make breakfast for jake too. that's a good way to start off a marriage, right? reaching towards the bedside table, she grabs her rather old phone and glances at the way too bright screen. shit! it's time for work, they slept in! as realisation strikes amy, she starts to have one of her well known panic attacks before realising it's saturday and she doesn't have to go in.

as her heartbeat and breathing slow down, she hears jake yawn and stretch in her panic. she noticed how childish and cute he seemed, as his arms pushed their headboard, causing him to slide down the mattress slowly. just as she was about to stand up to tend to her ravenous stomach, her tired boyfriend grasps her by the waist and pulls her closer moving her small head under his chin, sighing contently.

no, not her boyfriend. her husband.
god, she'd never get used to that.

breathing in his scent, she savours the first morning married to the most perfect man she could ever dream of. amy holds jakes arm tighter, as she remembers how perfect last night was again. despite her "day of" binder not being of any use eventually.

as amy tried to face jake, she shuffled in his tight but loving grip, before finally turning to face her husband. his eyelids were closed ever so slightly, and his face held a small grin.

even whilst asleep, he was still smiling.

amy leans forward and kisses his forehead softly, smiling brightly. jake begins to scrunch his face up as his bleary eyes open. they begin to twinkle as he sees his wife's face on this beautiful morning. his signature grin only widened.

"hey there mrs peralta"
