Era:

Footsteps ring through the corridor and without thinking I shove my body against the wall. Knives of pain run through my bad leg from jerking it against the wall. Gasping, I squeeze my eyes shut, my back arching in pain. It takes all my will power not to scream. Sweat beads on my forehead from the effort of dragging myself through the halls and rooms of the prison while pain surrounds me. I'm exhausted and all I want to do is lie here until someone, good or bad, finds me. I can't though, and I'm angry at myself for even thinking about it. I need to find Hunter. I need to help him, protect him. I'd rather die saving him than live knowing that had I done something he could be alive. That because of me he would be dead, and I'd have to live without him. The pain disappears enough that I can breathe again, and I open my eyes, panting. I peek around the corner to the hallway where I think the footsteps came from. I manage to look just in time to see Hunter run past me and around another corner. He's a bit bloody and cut up but otherwise he's relatively unharmed, and I smile. I hear the footsteps behind me right before a black bag is thrust over my head. I breathe in in surprise and a sickly scent surrounds me. I feel myself being lifted by strong, harsh hands right before everything, my thoughts included turns blank.
