Connor
I was going to ask Y/N out tomorrow. I can no longer be a coward, I will be a brave coward.
Y/N and I had just gotten kinda close again, she'd say no instantaneously. I don't want to set myself up.
Maybe I think about stuff to much? Could that be why I'm so doubtful? Well besides being a freak.
Maybe me and Y/N should just be friends... for now at least. I also don't want to pull Y/N into my troubles.
Wait I got an idea. I'll ask her when I'm high... that's perfect. So I won't feel so doubtful.
It was still early, I looked at my clock and it said 12:37, I was kinda tired so I went to bed.
Y/N
It turns out Evan was lonely so he wanted me to come over which I agreed I would. So now I find myself walking to his house.
Then it hit me, my dad would be there... oh well, me and Evan would just hang around in his room.
As soon as I got there I texted Evan and after a few seconds he opened the door. "He-hey, Y/N." He greeted me. "Hi, Evan." I did a little wave.
Evan and I walked into his house. Heidi and my dad must have saw us. My dad waved at me and Heidi smiled.
Lucky my dad didn't bother us. Heidi walked over to me. "Hey, Y/N, how have you been? It's been a while since I've seen you." Heidi hugged me.
I hugged her back. "Oh I've been good Mrs.Hansen. I'm glad to see you too." She looked back at me. "Y/N, you don't have to call me, Mrs. you can just call me Heidi, dear."
"Oh, alright, Hei-Heidi." I don't know why but I was starting to get nervous. Evan could tell to.
"Hey, mom, me and Y/N are gonna go up to my room now." Evan grabbed my hand and he led me up to his room.
Part of me felt bad for not talking to Heidi longer but I came here for Evan.
Evan closed his door behind us, and we walked over to his bed to sit down. "Thanks for the save." I grinned.
"No problem." He smiled back. I looked around his room, soaking in all the details. On his night stand he had a box of his anxiety medicine.
Behind his bed was a bed stand with a toy robot and other nicknacks. His bed cover was red with a flannel pattern. And his room was blue.
Then I saw a picture of us when we we're younger. I walked over to the picture and picked it up.
The picture was Evan and I at his tenth birthday party. Our moms crouched behind us in the picture.
Evan had walked over with me and he must have seen my smile go away once I noticed my mom.
"Hey." He said. I turned around to him. "It's okay." He told me. I hugged him and he hugged me back.
"I'm sorry." I told him. "For what?" He asked. "It's just...I don't know...I'm sorry..." I didn't know what to say, but all I wanted to say was sorry.
"Hey, don't be sorry. I should be the one that's sorry. I should have put that picture away." Why was he saying this? He shouldn't have to say sorry because I'm sad.
"No, I need to get over it. She left and I need to accept that. She doesn't want me in her life."
"Well, your not the only one." I didn't know what got into me, I should have thought how Evan felt to, about his dad.
"We're both kinda messed up, but that's alright. And what I was trying to say was I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when your mom left." I knew Evan was trying to help.
