Chapter 33- Changes

The boys finally showed up to my door. They weren’t late or anything but it just seemed like it took forever.

Ashely and I were sitting on my living room couch just talking, when the doorbell rang. I jumped up so fast I almost fell right back down. Ashely laughed at me and I told her to stop making fun of me. I answered the door and was instantly engulfed in a tight hug from Hunter and I weirdly got this fluttery feeling in my tummy. He let go of me and I gave a quick hug to Justen.

Hunter: “Are you ready to go?”

Me: “Of course!” I didn’t say that’d I’d been ready all day.

I undid my braids and brushed out my now wavy hair and the three of us headed out the door.

Justen: “Hey can we pick up Alexis on our way?”

Me: “Alexis?”

Hunter: “His girlfriend.”

Justen: “She’s not my girlfriend.”

Hunter: “Yet.”

We all laughed and pulled up to a cute house just down the road from mine. A maybe 5’5” tall girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes came walking out when she heard Hunter’s truck pull up. Justen even got out and opened the truck door for her, as Alexis scooted into the back seat next to me.

Me: “Hi, I’m Sara.” I reached out my right hand and she took it introducing herself as well.

The boys just kept talking about boy stuff up front as Lexi and I got to know each other. Weirdly she’d grown up in the same neighborhood as me and I had no idea who she was. Our school is so large that this happens a lot unfortunately. But since both of us just graduated from high school we definitely weren’t going to really be seeing each other again.

Me: (To Lexi): “So how’d you and Justen meet?”

Lexi: (To me): “I had been talking to him on twitter for a few months and he offered to give me a back stage pass to their show tomorrow night.”

Me: (To Lexi): “That’s adorable!”

Lexi: (To me): “I know right!”

Justen broke our conversation as Hunter pulled into a parking spot in front of the arcades.

Justen: “And here we are.”

Lexi and I just looked at each and I was the first one to smile.

Me: “I haven’t been here in ages.”

Hunter: “I figured it would be a cool thing to do, but still close to the venue so you would have time to get ready.”

Lexi: “What does he mean?”

Me: “I’m touring with Scotty McCreery and we have a show tonight.”

Lexi: “No way!”

Me: “Yes way!” I said jokingly.

Justen and Lexi walked off to play ski-ball and Hunter and I walked around the arcade for a little bit just talking.

Hunter: “If you don’t mind me asking what happened with you and Scotty?”

Me: “Our last show I invited a friend Taylor Ray on stage with me and Scotty got super jealous of him, just like how he always is when I talk to other guys.”

Hunter: “Yeah I noticed he gets that way, almost like he’s being overprotective.”

Me: “Exactly and then I woke up the next morning and Scotty was gone. I go to the airport and still can’t find him, and then I checked his Instagram when I landed and he was with Gabi.”

Hunter: “Isn’t Gabi his Ex that was cyberbullying you for a little bit?”

Me: “Yeah and at that point I lost it, and I haven’t spoken to him since.”

Hunter pulled me into another tight hug and tears started rolling down my cheeks.

Hunter: “Hey no crying, I don’t like seeing you like this.”

I wiped my tears and said sorry.

Hunter: “If you ever need someone to talk to, or you know a shoulder to cry on, I’m here for you, even though we are touring in different cities.”

Almost like it was planned out my phone rang… Grant.

I answered-

Me: “Hello?”

Grant: “Hey sweetheart it has come to my attention that you and Scotty aren’t faring well lately.”

Me: “Yeah, how did you know?”

Grant: “I may be old but I’m not out of the loop. I want to give you the option to switch places with Justen and tour with Hunter instead.”

Me: “Really? That would be beyond wonderful!”

Grant: “So I’ll take that as a yes?”

Me: “Definitely!”

Grant: “Okay after tonight’s show you two can switch places and be on the road for Massachusetts after Hunter and Justen’s last show together tomorrow night.”

Me: “Do you know if Justen is ok with us switching?”

Grant: “Don’t tell him I told you but he’s the one that suggested it.”

Me: “Ok tell him I said thank you!”

Grant: “I will hun.” And we hung up.

Hunter: “What was that about?”

Me: “Well after our Nashville show I’m opening for you!”

Hunter: “No way!”

Me: “Yeah call Grant if you don’t believe me.”

After that my night improved by 95% at least up until I had to see Scotty at the venue.

Justen and Lexi hung out with Hunter, Ashely, Trina and I in while I got ready and then Hunter walked me out to the stage when it was my time to go on.

After my performance all of us left to go and get pizza.

A.N. So new character Lexi.. Justen's possible girlfriend! Step two of Korrinn's idea. I think I'm going to keep adding to Hunter and Sara before I work on step three of the story! But I'm really happy to have gotten back to writing and to actaully have a whole huge idea!
