Question for Readers: ABP Plot and Legolas's Story

So I've started small parts and decent amounts of plot for Legolas's story, which will begin basically where Prince's Pretend Mother leaves off. BUT, in re-writing Better Place for original fiction, I've changed and discovered a few things I want your input in, because (like all my Middle Earth stories), the stories tie greatly into and influence each other.

ABP: In going from Fanfiction to Original Fiction, I've changed Mabyn's 'journey' from our modern world to Middle Earth, to her seriously dissociating from what is still a harrowing and neglectful past, still in 'Middle Earth', and during which she convinces herself she's from far away so she doesn't have to think about what's happened to her in this country. This leads to some delicious mysteries on the part of those who don't believe her stories of her own past which, because of her dissociation (basically, she's supplemented her real past with a fake one and convinced herself the fake one is real, because the real one scares her too much), don't always hold up under scrutiny. I believe Thranduil, especially, would want to know why someone her age and seemingly so carefree would be lying so much, and so adamantly, so he'd start looking into her history. He would find interesting things.

Where I need your help is this: Should I tweak A Better Place as it's written on Wattpad, to support how the altered plot would affect Legolas's story? Or when posting Legolas's story, should I open with an author's note explaining (in much clearer terms) why his story contradicts Mabyn's?

Sound off on my messages or in the comments, I LOVE hearing from you all!

Much love,

Ivy
