I referred to everyone as they, he or she besides Sam because I knew none of them. They all were such a small part of a second in my life. This event is rather confusing and sad at the same time. One morning, a young lady comes to pick up her child a day before. She takes pictures and smiles. I looked at her and smiled back. There was a strange vibe she gave off. Something about her was so mysterious. If you flash forward to the next day, the lady left without anything. Her camera, her child, and the smile on her face vanished. She was not the same person anymore. The lady just..left. There were no goodbyes. I stood there and watched as she slowly opened the metal gate. Her walk was slow and groggy. Her shoulders drooped, just a tad. I never really understood why she left. I didn't judge. I just observed. The reference, "children should be seen, not heard" applied to the situation. I had no right to tell her to stop. Even If I remotely attempted to, fate would've stepped in. It was bound to happen. Life has a way of playing you. You get happy, but it never lasts.
