Mabel hadn't, well she had, expected to hear those words come out of the petite vampires mouth. She just wasn't expecting to have this conversation after just throwing a fit like a little kid.

She didn't know why or how, but she looked over to Jasper almost to make sure it would be okay. When he nodded and gave her an encouraging smile and a little push to the other vampire, Mabel could feel herself relax from the tension she didn't know she had.

"Y-yeah. We can talk. If fact I think I'd like that." She gave Alice a smile.

"I'll be around if you need anything?" Jasper asked before he started up the stairs to the house.

She remotely nodded when he slipped inside, and she looked over to Alice after gesturing with her hands.

"After you. I'm sure both you and I have a lot of questions for each other." She stuck her hands in her back pocket.

Alice nodded and started a graceful walk to the woods. Mabel couldn't help but envy her a little. Every time Alice walked, it was like an almost graceful dance she planned out. She was so little it made Mabel feel a protectiveness over her.

And somewhere in the back of her mind, she could feel a memory about this exact moment.

After stopping in a small clearing that had a large tree that had fallen over in what looked like a storm. Mabel leaned against a big branch and looked over to Alice who had been staring at her curiously. There was an awkward tension in the air that you could cut with a knife.

Without needing too, but she decided to do it anyways, just because it was a human thing to do, Mabel cleared her throat.

"How long have you known about me?" Mabel decided to go for one of the harder questions first. Sometimes she wasn't a 'go get em' girl but when she did, she was a force to be reckoned with.

She could see the way Alice nervously fidgeted, something a normal human wouldn't see because it was so slight but with her enhanced senses she caught it quickly.

"A-almost seventy-nine Years." She let out in a rushed sentence. "I wanted to come to you sooner but every time I went, I kept getting glimpses of us both being tortured and killed in so many different ways."

Alice tried explaining and her hands moving in frantic gestures. Mabel felt something in the pit of her stomach and she had to look off in the distance to control herself.

She understood Alice's reasoning, but the irrational side of her still felt the rage, hurt, and betrayal of knowing that Alice had known about her but didn't come sooner.

"I get what you're saying Alice. I do....but part of me is still feeling betrayed by this whole situation."

Alice stopped her rambling and nodded mutely. But in a quick flash she wrapped her arms around Mabel in a giant hug.

"I am truly sorry Mabel. I would've came for you, but I didn't want our time together to be shortened. When I knew that we could be together and have all the time in the world together to become sisters and best friends? I didn't want to give that up for the world." She said in a rushed whisper and then let her go and stood back and folded her hands gracefully in front of her.

"I know it won't be today. But you'll forgive me eventually, and when you're ready, I'll be here waiting to get to know you again and do everything we were supposed to do."

Mabel couldn't help but smile and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Well I hope you don't wait til I forgive you to get to know me. Cause I'd still like to catch up and figure out everything after all these years."

Alice let out a bell like laugh. "If there's one thing you should know, is that I'm more stubborn then a mule. Nothing would stop me from getting to know you. But I think there's been enough talk for today."

Mabel couldn't help but agree, it definitely had been a long day and a lot of stuff had been said that she needed to sit down and let it sink in.

"Plus, I think a certain someone inside the house is itching to get back out here to you."

From the distance you could hear something smash from the window and start breaking through the trees. Just in time both girls moved out of the way when a sofa came crashing down into the ground and splintering into tiny pieces.

"Jasper Hale! You owe me a new window and sofa young man!" Esme yelled out and you could hear a slight smack from inside.

"Yes Ma'am."

Both girls turned to look at each other and let out a small giggle.

"You too Alice!"

Then Mabel let out a full laugh as the others who weren't in trouble joined in. In the back of her mind, Mabel knew she made the right choice by coming. She was finally getting her family back.
