BACK!

Ash's POV

My attention was on the mirror in front of me. I was in my room waiting for school to be over. I decided to skip school so that I could set everything up for the party at my house. I haven't hosted a party in years, so I have to make sure this party will be splendid. Also Serena will be coming, as well as Calem. This may be a good opportunity to rub my 'relationship' in his face.

I loosened up my short sleeve button-up and took a look at the clock, 3:00. I've got enough time, just need to wait for Bonnie and Astrid and then maybe we can finish up some things, plus I gotta pick Serena up. I wasn't sure how fancy Serena would dress so I didn't dress super 'formal', I just did enough. Button up, black jeans and a pair of blue, expensive penny loafers. I believe that if you're the one hosting you have to at least dress in something that doesn't include sweats. I'm not sure what Serena will think about what I'm wearing, but I hope she doesn't get the wrong idea. That I'm out here to 'impress' her with my style. Though I'm not looking to be serious with Serena, I know that looks take you pretty far. They may not take you the whole way, I have first hand experience, but good looks can make life easier.

Serena's POV

School had ended just 30 minutes ago and for some reason I was rushing home. I know Ash has a party tonight, but it feels like I'm taking this whole relationship thing just a bit too seriously. I mean Ash told me that he wasn't looking to be serious, but I want to move on so I guess I have to take this a tad seriously. Once entering my dad's house, I bolt upstairs and start to look for clothes. What would Ash like? A white dress? No, too fancy. Maybe a skirt paired with something? I take out a sky blue off-the-shoulder crop top. I kind of want to pull my weight in looks. I know looks can get you only so far, but they can get you somewhere. I then pair the top with a white ruffled mini-skirt.

My thoughts drift towards Calem as I put my hair up into a ponytail. This was his favorite look, I would wear this almost every time we had a date. I had fond memories with it and a tear made its way down my cheek. I've got to pull through on this one, I put on some aquamarine earrings and some white wedges.

Many people say that my face is quite similar to my mom's. I have her soft nose as well as her ultramarine eyes. I've heard somewhere, that color of blue, I have, is quite rare for people who have blue eyes. My face shape is identical to hers, with high cheek bones, a small mouth and a pointed chin. I'm thankful that she passed on that because I've seen some faces and they are not pretty.

My hair color; however, came from my dad and supposedly my smile looks just like his. Almost everyday, when I was younger, he would tell me that I got the best looks from him, or I should say the ones that count. "See Serena, your mom gave you the face, but who gave you the beautiful hair?". I loved it when he would praise me and talk about my looks. He'd laugh as mom would roll her eyes at his persistent talk about his contributions to my looks. He'd also joke about how his hair was the reason why my mom fell in love with him. "You see sweetie, the moment her eyes laid upon my hair... it was love at first sight!". Again mom would roll her eyes, telling me that "It was his personality". And also that she didn't want him to teach me that looks were everything about relationships.

A heavy sigh escapes my mouth as I stare at my outfit 'on' the mirror. I play with my hair, remembering the times that my family was close. The times that he would ruffle my hair. My thoughts returned to Calem, I had wondered what Dad would've thought about Calem's kobicha colored hair. I'm certain that dad would've joked about how his hair was the better of the two. I know my dad would've joked about how Calem wouldn't be able to 'have' me until his hair became as good as his. I start to make my way down the stairs and I head to the kitchen. I once again look at the note stuck onto the refrigerator. 'Sorry sweetie, but I'm going to be out for more than a year maybe two or three. I know how hard this will be on you, but you're my sweet pea and I know you're strong! My research in Hoenn will most likely not allow me to call you, but don't think that I won't think of you everyday! Stay strong'. He has been gone for just over two years, and funny enough.. I started to date Calem a week after that. Calem reminded me so much of my father. He was funny, caring and a bit soft spoken. He would tell me stories about how he charmed people, but that I was the only one for him. I knew about his previous girlfriend Paris, and how she had to leave. I was jealous at first, but Calem treated me like a queen. It was only a year later that he started to get aggressive, but I had assumed it was because of his family issues. He had told me that Ash was part of the reason, and that had been his reason for putting Ash down. I never wanted to 'bully', but when I heard that.. I immediately started to follow Calem's footsteps in bullying Ash.
