After that deal with the lovely couple, Peter locked himself away again in his treehouse. While life moved on in Neverland, I occupied myself with talking with the Lost Boys, training with them, taking care of them, playing with them, and there were times that I would just walk alone in Neverland.

Even if Peter had given me the tour, I knew that there were more places to find. This island alone was full of adventures. Through my walks, I was able to find the pixie cave and see Liya again. She was a funny little pixie and we became good friends. It's about time that I've finally had a best friend who's a girl.

Sometimes, when I go on my walks, I would see Peter perched on a tree. His figure was facing the sea and his eyes looked so distant. He was always in deep thought whenever I'd see him. It always makes me wonder what he could be thinking about.

As I've said to Eve, Peter is filled with so many secrets and I don't think I could keep up. But both Peter and I are people who are filled with secrets.

As of today, I was reading a book that Peter gave me. When we went to his treehouse the other day, after his most recent deal, he noticed me staring at his book collection.

"Do you enjoy reading?" He asked. I felt as if I was caught doing something bad and took a few steps away from the books.

"I um- not really." I pursed my lips. "I guess I just never had the time before," I answered. "Also, I've just never seen this many books before."

Peter's eyes widened for a moment and he stood right beside me. He lifted his hand and let his fingers slide over the spine of the books. "This is just a small collection. You've never seen rain and you've never seen books. What kind of a world did you live in?"

"A dying one."

Peter tilted his head in confusion because of my response. I'm glad that he didn't wish me to expand upon it. His eyes stayed on his small collection of books. Then he looked at me. If it was his usual cold, hard stare, I would've stared him down, but it wasn't. The way he was looking at me was just like the way he looked at me when he realized I've never seen rain before. I didn't necessarily feel uncomfortable under his gaze, but I had no idea how to act.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I finally asked to break this maddening silence.

"You can pick any book that I have in here to read. It's up to you, when you want to return them, just leave them in front of my treehouse."

Since I was dying to leave his treehouse, I just took one book off his bookshelf without even looking at the title and muttered a quiet thanks before I left.

Now, as I was in the middle of reading the book under the shade of a tree at the shores of Neverland, Newt was sitting right beside me. Taking a few peeks of the book that I was reading. Suddenly, an arrow landed on the top of my head and sent my reflexes to work. In one swift motion, I placed the bookmark in the book, took out the arrow from the bark of the tree, and threw it to the direction from which it came.

I watched as the arrow flew as if it had been shot from a crossbow. It was then I saw Peter catch the arrow before it pierced his neck. He shot another arrow and I was able to avoid it before it hit me.

"(Y/N) calm down," Newt tried to say, but I wasn't listening to him. "I'm certain he didn't mean to do it."

"Peter doesn't do things accidentally."

My body was too pumped up with energy to be scared of Peter. I can see in his eyes that he was coming after me for doing that. Well it's obvious that he started it with the crossbow in his hand.

"What the shuck were you trying to do!?" I yelled at him. "Kill me?"

He didn't say anything and kept walking towards me. His eyes were lit with anger. He took the crossbow and aimed it at me. I thought that he was going to shoot me. My eyes were ablaze just like his.
