Jean West, a girl with a fear of love, breaks her one rule: Get Through Four Years of High School Without Any Trouble.

     This means two things:

1.) Study hard and focus on school.
    And
2.) Don't distract yourself with relationships—including friendships.

Unfortunately she fails, first, by cheating on a test, which may not be the worst thing ever because of the opportunity to connect with someone she never thought was possible. However, this also means she broke her second rule and has no idea where to go from there.

Wayland Everett, a boy lost in his past, breaks his one rule: Do Your Best in School, Ignore Those Around You. In abiding by this, Wayland is able to keep a family secret—one that will turn his life upside down if it is told—concealed. But when Jeanna finds Wayland somewhere terrifying, the boy risks the uncovering of his secret for the protection of this girl. However, when—despite everything—Jeanna finds herself wanting to keep this connection between herself and Wayland, the lost boy may need to reconsider who his family truly is and whether it is right for him to keep this long-held burden from being heard.

Jean West and Wayland Everett find themselves doing exactly what they promised themselves not to do—but maybe that's for the best. In breaking their promises holding them back, they learn through each other's past and present, beginning to build a future they've both been secretly longing for. Happiness starts to break through the small crack of Hope in the barriers they've put up, but in order to fully bask in the future they're wishing for, they have to shatter the true demon holding them back.

Travel through Jean and Wayland's Eternity to listen to their Story no one else knows—that is, until they finally choose to put an end to their silence. Read as they break past every barrier holding them back, and as they, together, learn new things to create the future they both want.
