Nandini's POV:

My eyes blink open as the rays of the sun flood through the window and beam onto my face. I sit up and rub my eyes while I groan. A new day of suffering... Fantastic. I finally get up and run to the bathroom to get ready for the morning. I exit the bathroom in a robe and go to get my outfit for the day, the typical college "girly" outfit - a skirt and long-sleeved crop top. I am not a fan of heavy makeup so I do a winged eyeliner and wear some chapstick and call it that.

Ok Nandini! Time to be hype, be preppy. Seem HAPPY. You have no right to express a bad mood when talking to your friends! No time for insecurities. Time to start a new day - a fresh canvas for you to spread happiness towards people who ACTUALLY have problems, not your stupid excuses.

I nod at my thoughts and take a few deep breaths.

It's go time.

I walk out of the room when suddenly something tackles me to the ground.

"NANDIIIII! BABES I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! IT IS THE FIRST DAY OF COLLEGE! I AM SO EXCITED," yells the person on top of me.

"MUKTI!! GET OFF OF ME BABE! YOU ARE SO HEAVY! I CANNOT HANDLE YOU LAYING ON ME!"

Mukti pouts and gets off of me. The girl who jumped on me is my best friend- Mukti Vardhan. She is a bubbly, sweet girl towards her family, which is composed of her friends. She has been an orphan for much of her life, but she doesn't let that hold her back from achieving her dreams and spreading love. But beware, she will turn icy once you betray her and you will never be able to gain her trust back.

"I am sorry babe! You know how I get when I am excited!"

I smile and hug her.

"It's ok. Just chill out. It is just the first day of college, not your wedding day with Abhi."

Mukti blushes and breaks the hug.

"Oh, how I wish it was. He is my baby, my cuddly bear, my one and only, my sexyyyy man."

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that she is dating my brother.

I cringe and do not hide it from my face.

"Ewww gross! Don't talk to me about my brother like that. He isn't sexy. He is a weird looking nerd."

Someone walks into the hallway of the apartment.

Person: Who is a weird looking nerd?

Mukti: BABY! I missed you!

Mukti jumps onto Abhi. Abhimanyu Thakkar, one of the most kind and helpful people you will meet in a lifetime. Yeah, I know what you are wondering: Dude, he has a different last name. How is he your brother?

Well, we are cousins but so close that we are brother-sister. We both are very possessive for our sibling bond, pouting if anyone steals the attention from either one of us.
