The way she looked was awful. I couldn't just let her stay there. My heart pounded. No one really understood me except her.

Deep down I knew I always had feelings for her. I just didn't want to acknowledge them. But with her imprisonned I couldn't help but feel this way.

"Hi Ty Lee." Mai said one night

"Hey." I said putting on a fake smile hoping she wouldn't know.

"What's wrong?" Words I've never heard come out of someone else's mouth.

"Nothing really, I just miss Azula that's all." I say slouching my shoulders.

"Well if you ask me she got what she deserved after betraying us like that."

Tears well up in my eyes. The fact she would say something like that to our best friend.

"Fine! If that's how you feel." I say angrily running off.

Truth is I'm more hurt than angry. I just wish I knew what to do about these feelings.

Before I knew what I was doing I ended up at the prison. Is now really the best time for all this?

On my way I picked a rose. Careful not to prick myself. But now I clenched it with full force; I could feel the blood dripping down my hand. it hurt yes, but some times you need to hurt before you can be happy.

As I entered the building I couldn't help but think that I might actually love her.

"May I see Azula?" I ask the woman who sat at the window.

"I'm sorry ma'am but I'm afraid I can't let see her at this time. Visiting hours ended a few hours ago."

I cry some more. Will I ever get to see her?

"It's okay. She's with me." Zuko said walking to my side.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience Fire Lord Zuko." The woman said gesturing toward the door.

   "Are you ok?" He asked.

"I stopped being ok a while ago." I said in return.

"Well Mai told me what happened."

  "Course she did."

I kept my head down. I don't need Zuko to babysit me. I just want to talk to her alone.

"She went a little awoll on us a few weeks back so we had to move her to solitary confinement. Please be careful." The woman said.

"We will. Won't we Ty Lee?"

I nodded my head because I didn't want to talk to either of them. I didn't want any of this.

I stopped. What have I become? I'm a monster. I'm just like her. Maybe that's why I like her so much because deep down I'm just like her.

  "Ty Lee?" Zuko said.

"Can I speak to her alone?" I ask.

He didn't say anything. He just motioned to the door just ahead of us.

I slowly walked toward the steel door, Not knowing what to do. I dreaded even coming here.

The woman typed in a code and I heard a buzz. I took hold of the door with my left hand and gently opened it.

The room was dark but soon lights turned on. The moment they did I knew there was no going back. I let go of the door and let it slam behind me.

"Azula, I'm here." I whisper in her ear.

"What do you want?" She asked jerking the chains.

She looked up, and her face had rings under her eyes as if she hadn't slept in ages.

"I got you a rose." I said placing it in front of her.

She watched as the blood trickled down my hand making a pool of blood under the rose.

"Ty Lee why would you do this? For me of all people?"

"Some times you have to hurt before you can be happy. You taught me that."

Tears began to sliding down her cheek. I haven't seen her cry in her entire life.

  "You mean it?"

"I do." I say wrapping my arms around her neck.

   "Come home."
