Chapter 6: One call changes everything

Aiden's POV

Who is that?! Who is hugging and twirling Alice?! Does she know him? Does he know her? Does he like her?! DOES SHE LIKE HIM?! So many thoughts are swimming in my head right now. Are they a thing? Did I not know this?! WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS PERSON?!

Vanessa's POV

My plan is working perfectly, Aiden looks jealous. I knew to bring Max back was perfect, Bella said they were remarkably good friends back in elementary school. If this continues, Aiden will talk to Alice therefore apologizing or whatever. Then BAM!! They become a couple, ok maybe not a couple but they will make up. At first, I thought Alice would never agree, but I'm glad she did, I'm only doing this to help her. I want her and Aiden to get together more than anything. You could see the longing in both of their eyes, but right now all you could see in Aiden's eyes was jealousy. And to be honest it's pretty amusing. It's funny seeing him mentally curse Max, Now all I have to do was wait till he asked her to the masquerade.

Alice's POV

I was so excited, Max, one of my closest friends was back, I never knew he had powers, huh, weird. He was his same quirky and sweet self, his dark brown hair fell over his dark blue eyes, as he lazily released me from the hug. "I'm so happy to see you Maxxy! It's been too long!" I exclaimed. "It sure has Kingsleigh!" I love Alice in Wonderland so he always calls me Kingsleigh since that's Alice's last name in the movie. We walked over into my dorm, and I explained to him everything, from me figuring out I am magic, to figure out in an element, basically, everything that happened throughout the year so far. He told me about his life in Ireland and how amazing it was, every morning waking up to the roaring grassy green mountains of Ireland, as the sun barely peeking over the horizon, slowly painting his wooden house light orange. I always loved that about Max, he was so poetic, and it was amazing. Life in Ireland sounded amazing! Not a lot of people knew this but I used to live in France as a toddler, in a tiny wooden house overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Every time Valentines Day came around the tower would be decorated with billions of tiny light pinks hearts overtaking the natural light brown rust of the tower. It was amazing and super romantic. At night they would glow faintly creating the illusion of a pink Eiffel Tower. It was absolutely breathtaking! But when I turned seven we moved to America, yes I was born in France, I'm French, and I also speak it fluently, I don't regret moving to America, If I didn't I would've never met Bella, or Aiden, or Max, or Vanessa. Only Max and Bella knew I was French, surprisingly, Bella was British! She was born in England and had an accent. Everyone thought we were American, but they are wrong.

Aiden's POV

Alice never gave me a nickname, but Max has one, and he has one for her! Who is this guy! I need to find out and fast. Am I jealous? Maybe, probably, yes.

Bella's POV

Wow, Vanessa brought Max back, I have to admit, I didn't see this coming. Shortly after releasing Bella from the hug, he caught me staring at him, oh no he is walking over what do I do? "Hey, Belle," he said calmly, even though my name is Bella, he always calls me Belle, I never really minded it, I still don't. "Hey," I replied sheepishly. Hey?! That's all you could've said when your elementary crush comes back after 3 years?! I thought to myself, We stood there in awkward silence. Oh, I forgot to mention, I used to like Max, well, I still do. Only Alice knows, as usual, she saves me, by pulling Max away to give him a tour of the school. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Aiden, man, he does not look happy. But I feel like something is going to go wrong, I don't know why though. I need to tell Alice that something might happen, as I was finding Alice an announcement came over the loudspeaker "ATTENTION STUDENTS, TOMORROW NIGHT IS THE MASQUERADE DON'T FORGET TO BUY YOUR TICKETS!" It varied. I grinned, I was super excited, I've never been to a ball before, let alone a masquerade ball. I ran to the nature dorm a saw V and Alice talking, "Girls, we have to get our dresses and masks for the ball!" I exclaimed. They nodded their heads in agreement. We left the nature dorm and went to the nearest town, it was called Rosetown, the shops were all box-shaped with a triangular roof, one shop, in particular, caught my eye. It was mint green with two box-shaped windows encrusted with gold bars, inside were shelves full of dresses and accessories, all across the walls grew rose and rose vines, the shelves were dark oak wood and the dresses were separated by color, the short ones in the front and the long ones in the back. I found my dress almost immediately, the top was pastel pink and outlined with gold, and the bottom front was short and ruffled, whilst the back was long and flowy. For accessories, I ended up buying pastel ping heels and rose earrings and a tiny rose sticker that I would put on the corner of my eye closest to my ear. The girls approved of it, and I went to the cafe for a snack.

Alice's POV

Bella's dress was amazing, now mine was pretty difficult to find, it was pastel green, the top was sparkly, and the bottom was long with a slit on the front, it was silky and flowy, for accessories, I bought light green heels, and small diamond earrings, and a three-piece tree necklace, I went to find Bella at the cafe, "Hey, I found my dress, V is still searching for hers," I said, she was too distracted by the cotton candy frappe in front of her, what am I gonna do with girl? hahaha.

Aiden's POV

I have to find the PERFECT tux for this dance, I've seen Max's tux and it's amazing, he didn't show me, I just, maybe sort of kind of snuck into his room and took a slight peek... besides the point, I have to find a better tux than his, it just has to happen. I need to go to a shop, I'll just go to Rosetown, its the closest

Alice's POV

V went back to the school, so it was just me and Bella, she finally finished her frappe, so we headed back, as we walked in the oak we were transported into the school, oof, that always gave me a stomachache, I felt my phone buzz, I looked at my screen, and I stared. My mom was calling me, I haven't seen or heard from her since I came here. "Hello?" I said I was instantly relieved when I heard her voice, its been way too long, "Hi honey, I need to tell you something, I've known you were magical since you were four, I was going to tell you, but I didn't want to scare you, I'm so sorry honey." I felt tears well up in my eyes. "You knew?" I asked, my voice was shaky. "Mom, tell me again, how dad was, killed." She only told me very faint details when I was young, i needed to know the full story now, im older, i can handle it.  "Well, your father and I, we met in high school, then dated all the way through college, but your father met this, woman, they grew very close. But when the woman asked to date your father, he told her about me. She disappeared after that for a few years, them right after you were born, she killed him, out of jealousy." I couldn't take it anymore, I quickly ran to my pod, plopped on my bed, then cried. This woman took my father from me, because of her, I never had a father, and it was all her fault. "Alice?" I heard a faint whisper. My only response was a surprised gasp. It sighed releavingly, it was Bella, I told her everything, and she allowed me to cry on her shoulder for about an hour. She understood completely, I always wanted to know about my dad, so I would vent to her, when my mom blew me off, I can't believe it, one phone call changed everything.

Authors note: Heyyy, Im so sorry its been literally forever, even tho no one is reading this story XD, I started school, then git side tracked, writers block, ya know, the usual. But chapter 6 is out!! Enjoy, until next time, baiiiiii
