Kaycee stood on her tip toes and looked both ways before taking another step. Slowly, she extended her arm out and reached for the box of lucky charms.
Once she grabbed hold of it, she sprinted out of the kitchen and dived into the couch next to Sean
"Ooof" she let out a sound, stopping herself before she could knock off the laptop off of Sean's lap
"Mission success?" He asked enthusiastically
"Success!" She said, showing him the box as they both ripped it open and shoved a handful in their mouth
"Mmmmm, but I just want the marshmallows though" Kaycee struggled to say, her cheeks so full and tinted red
"You can't.. it's not fair" he shoved more cereal in his mouth
They were both craving some good food and they've only been on the road for 2 hours. It was only 10:00 in the morning and it was too early for lunch.
"Eh-ehem" they heard someone say from behind
They both stopped in their tracks and slowly turned to look at the person whom the voice came from
It was Mom..
Crap, Kaycee thought
"Hii mom!" She sniggered, putting on a guilty smile
Sean swallowed slowly and quietly as his gazes shifted from the girl beside him and the woman standing before them that had her hands placed on her hips
"Kaycee.. we had a rule, am I right?" The woman spoke
"Uhhh-maybe? I think. Sorta. Kinda" Kaycee blabbered, scratching the back of her head
"What rule?" Sean chimed in, still nibbling on the food
"Well, mom doesn't like it when we eat cereal without milk. So she made up some rule saying No milk No Cereal." Kaycee sighed and shook her head
"You betcha" Laura crossed her arms, giving both of them a knowing look
"Oh" was all Sean could say, slowly putting the box down on the small coffee table
"But c'mon mom, puhleaase" Kaycee begged but her mom still shook her head no
"Kaycee-" her mom tried to say
"Pleaaase?" She pouted once again, giving her the puppy eyes
Laura sighed in defeat as she rolled her eyes jokingly at her daughter "Just this once kiddo. You have a consequence later"
Her mom walked away, leaving both of them in the tiny living room of the RV
Once she left the room, Sean and Kaycee looked at each other and it didn't even take a minute for them to start laughing and cackling
"Gosh, this is so unhealthy I didn't even realize" Sean exclaimed scanning through the ingredients at the back of the box
"More for me!" She replied, stealing it off of his hands
Sean chuckled and watched her munch on the cereal as a small giggled escaped her perfectly curved lips
"Lulu, Kino, c'mere!" Kaycee called, patting the empty space on the couch as the two dogs came running in to lick her and Sean's face
"No Kino, that's not your doggy treats!" She exclaimed, grabbing the box of lucky charms out of their reach
"Why don't you give them some of their own treats then? I mean, it's only fair that we do.. they don't have a choice" Sean chuckled, holding Lulu in his arms as Kaycee gave him an odd smirk
