My hands turned into a fist as Tiffany pushed me against the wall. Her two followers stood with their arms crossed, smirking.

"You're nothing but a piece of sh*t. Have you ever thought you are a sh*t to the society?" She said as she put her hand on my shoulder.

Tiffany Young, the queen of the school, beautiful and tall. Her dark hair tied up high just like her status in school. Her high heels making her taller than me. She stared down with a smirk of her own, I wish I can wipe down that smirk of hers, but reality is- I know I can never.

When she learnt that I lived with my foster parents, she thought it will be a good idea to mess around with me. She have no idea how hard and scary the world is. Having been sheltered with expensive things, she doesn't know the pain, the pain that I have felt, the pain that is still haunting me, the pain that will never leave me alone.

"You should leave her, Tiff." Amanda said surprising me with her kindness. "We have better things to do, remember? We have to get ready for the party tonight."

That clicked Tiffany's mind as she nodded and glared down at me. "Have a good weekend, honey." She said giving me a disgusted look as she walked away. I was so glad, they left me as I pick my bag up from the ground.

The sad truth is that I have no friends in school since I have to move around different families and different schools. I can't stay long in one school, but I am surprise that I'm living with the same family for three years now.

The family I am staying with is very kind and generous. Cameron, who is a doctor is very kind and compassionate, always worry about me, even though I am not his daughter. His wife, Allison is a music teacher in an elementary school. She loves children, that's what I have noticed.

They have a son, Matthew who is older to me and is in college, and lives with his parents because Cameron requested Matthew not to move to the school's residence.Their family is very kind and I wonder how long will it be until they decide to take me out of their home. I have one more year in school and then I am done. I can graduate and figure out my life.

I put my hand in my coat as I walked towards the bus stop, I see him; laughing in the parking lot with his friends.

Daniel, the boy Tiffany is chasing after or rather the whole school is chasing after. He is beautiful, so beautiful that it seems unfair. His light brown hair swept back as few strands of hair was loose as if falls on his beautiful eyes. He features was warm and cheerful. With his looks he have money and followers. He doesn't have to worry about college or about where he will stay, he can make money with his looks.

As I stood in the crowded bus stop and looked at the message from Matthew.

"Do you want me to pick you up from school? I am in the grocery store near your school."

"I think I'm good. Thanks." I texted him.

"Sure?" He asked.

"Yup." I said.

Matthew is a nice guy, if he had a younger sibling and I know they will be lucky because he will be the nicest brother. He is nice to me, unliked some other people who I have encountered during my stay.

My bus arrived on time, as everyone formed a line to get inside the bus. Someone pulled me back and I see Matthew smiling at me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Why would you take a crowded bus when I am around the area?" He questioned as he raised one of his eye-brow.

"It's inconvenient." I pointed out.

He rolled his eyes at me and pushed me towards the school's parking lot. "I almost missed you." He said.

I shake my head.

"How was school?" He asked.

"Like always?" I said.

"Great." He said.

His car was warm as we got inside.

"Your school definitely have rude kids." He complained as he put on his seat belt.

"Why?" I asked, nothing new about this news.

"I asked them if they know you, and they told me to f*ck off." He said rolling his eyes. "They should be glad I was in a hurry to catch up with you."

I smiled a little.

"Would you mind helping me with PowerPoints?" He asked sheepishly.

"Sure." I said.

"Thanks." He said as he pulled out from the parking lot. I see him looking at us from the mirror, but I think I was mistaken.

Matthew brought way too much groceries and I found way too many snacks as he quickly ran inside.

"You do know that if Allison see this, you will be getting an earful." I said, but we both know Allison will pretend that she's angry. She doesn't mind the snacks as Matthew got the habit from her.

"It was on sale." He said proudly.

And I shake my head.

"I will prepare snacks and then we can start the work?" He asked.

"Sure." I said. "I will get change."

He nodded his head as he turned towards the cabinet as I ran upstairs to my room. I came down in my onesie as we both sat down to do the work. Matthew joked that I might get a degree in engineering by doing his homework. I learnt a lot while helping him in his work at times and I realized I am not that interested in that field, which give me some thoughts about my future.

At least it was weekend, as we stayed up to finish his work. Allison came home and like we thought, she did give an earful to Matthew and then grinned and said, "At least you bought my favourites."

Matthew thinks it is unfair when she nags because at the end she is always happy with the snack choices.

Matthew was half way asleep, when Allison knocked him gently on his head. "Why are you making Izzy do your homework?"

"It hurts." He said as he rubbed his head and scowled at her playfully.

"You always make her do your work." She raised one of her eyebrow. "When you get a job are you planning to hire her?"

"Not a bad idea." Matthew eyes' shone brightly.

"Too bad, she might even be your boss." She winked at me. "She studied your work and will be your boss."

Matthew rolled his eyes and I chuckled.

"You better start doing your work by yourself. Izzy have to do her homework too." She said as she patted my head gently.

Matthew pouted.

"I finished my homework in school." I said. "I don't really mind helping Matthew."

Matthew grinned. "See? She doesn't mind."

Allison just rolled her eyes at Matthew and walked away with a smile. Sometime, it is not that bad and make me feel like I am part of this family, but for how long? I wondered to myself.
