[ chapter seven ]

THE CAR RIDE WAS SILENT as Joe drove towards our best-friends house. Joe had swerved a bit to the right before stopping the car meaning that we had arrived. I glanced at the window and laughed to myself when I noticed that Michael was playing his harmonica as he sat on a wall waiting for us. I grinned at Jeremiah and nudged him, nodding my head to our best-friend and he let out a laughter.

"Lilly, the car is here." I heard Michael shout as he looked back to his house and I had no doubt that Lilly said something to him because he started walking towards us 

"Thanks for the ride." Michael thanked Joe as he stood a few feet away from us before walking to open the door and he stood in silent as he took in the new Mia 

"Hey" Mia greeted Michael quietly as they both stared at one another but he stayed silent causing Jeremiah to let out some snickers 

"What's wrong Michael?" I asked my best friend with a smirk on my face, trying my best to act concern as I leaned against Jeremiah 

"Michael, don't always think you can get a ride with us...oy, who destroyed you?" Lilly asked as she went to stand still when she caught sight of Mia 

I narrowed my eyes as the black haired girl for two reasons. One of them for basically insulting my best friend who is also her brother and the second one for insulting my twin sister. From the corner of my eye, I saw Mia's smile falter, not expecting that kind of reaction from Lilly. 

"Oh. You think it looks that bad?" Mia asked her best-friend and her voice was starting to shake a bit 

"I don't look bad do I?" I asked Jeremiah quietly, turning my head so that I could face him to see if he was lying or not

"No, you look the same. You looked beautiful yesterday, now you look gorgeous." Jeremiah told me as he stared into my eyes before pecking my lips, focusing our attention back at Lilly and Mia 

"You look ridiculous, you should sue." Lilly informed her causing Mia to let out an awkward chuckle making me reach over to hold her hand not wanting her to be upset

"I know it's a little straighter and shorter." Mia started to speak as she reached to grip my hand a bit tighter making me wince quietly 

"Weirder" Lilly added cutting Mia off before climbing in the limo as both Jeremiah and I scooted on the other side making space though I didn't want to

"An attractive weirder" Michael said making me laugh as he climbed in, his cheeks tinted a bit red as he realized what he said out loud
