You looked the corgi in the eyes, wondering just where it came from. Kawaii~Chan seemed to have caught sight of it.

"Is that Y/n~Kun's dog?" You pulled your notebook out of your bag, which was sitting on the ground next to you.

I have no idea. This is the first time I've ever seen them.

Kawaii~Chan nodded as you held a hand out to the dog. It licked your hand. You reached over and lifted the dog onto your lap. It barked happily and sat down, panting. You sipped your hot chocolate as the dog panted. You had no idea where it came from, or where it was when you first came home.

You eventually finished your hot chocolate in silence, Kawaii~Chan staying quiet as well. As you placed the mug down, the dog jumped off of your lap. You took the opportunity to get up, placing your mug in the sink. After that was done, you walked over to Kawaii~Chan, taking her empty mug. She didn't protest as you took it to the sink. After that was done, you walked over to your mom to see her stirring. You sat down by her as her eyes opened. She yawned.

"Ugh, what time is it...." she yawned as she looked at her watch. She seemed to freak out.

"Crap! I'm late to-" she finally noticed you.

"Y/n! Crap! I knew it was going to rain-" she was interrupted by the sight of Kawaii~Chan and the corgi.

"Oh. Hello." Kawaii~Chan shyly waved in response to your mom. Your mom sat down before speaking again.

"I see you already met Drei." You nodded. Your mom turned to you.

"So, who's your friend?" You held up both hands.

Her name is K-A-W-A-I-I C-H-A-N. Her parents are away on a trip. She didn't know it was going to rain so hard and didn't have an umbrella.

Your mom nodded while Kawaii~Chan stayed silent, not understanding sign language.

"Alright. Kawaii~Chan, your welcome to stay however long you want. If you want, I'll drive you home." Kawaii~Chan nodded.

"Thank you Missus L/N." Your mom got up, stretching.

"Well, Y/n. I'm sure you want a reason as to why I was asleep." She yawned while you shrugged.

"I was trying to get a vitamin gummy, just for supplements, but I think I might've taken Melatonin instead." You nodded at this, understanding. Your dad had some form of PTSD from the accident, and sometimes needed Melatonin to sleep. Your mom picked it up in a case of gummies to make it more enjoyable for him than actual pills.

"So, is there anything you like to do Kawaii~Chan?" She nodded.

"Kawaii~Chan likes to bake." Your mom smiled and got up.

"Well, we can bake cookies if you'd like." Kawaii~Chan nodded. Then your mom seemed to take notice of something.

"Oh dear. You're still in your school uniform. Come on, I'll get you something more comfortable. Y/n, you hang out with Drei for a bit, teach him some tricks. I'll get some treats in a minute, and there's peanut butter in the pantry, and carrots in the fridge." You nodded as Kawaii~Chan and your mom walked upstairs.

  With them out of sight, you turned your attention to Drei the corgi in front of you. You got up and grabbed carrots from the fridge, and the jar of peanut butter in the pantry. You placed them both on the kitchen counter, pulling out your phone. You watched as Drei waddled up to you. You opened a notes app and typed a single word:
'Sit.' You highlighted the word and, with one hand, made a gesture with your hand. Index and middle finger up, before slicing down. With your other hand, you pressed the speak option.

"Sit." Drei panted at you as he did nothing. You reached over, and pushed his butt down so he was in a sitting position, before repeating the gesture and command.

"Sit." Drei stayed as he was. You grabbed a carrot and dipped it in peanut butter, giving it to Drei. He got up and grabbed it from your hand, eating it. You smiled as he finished the improvised treat. You once again repeated the gesture and command from your phone.

"Sit." Drei sat down. He's a fast learner. You took another peanut butter carrot, giving it to him. As he ate it, you prepared only the command on your phone.

"Sit." Drei paused for a moment before sitting down. Another peanut butter carrot for him. This time, you made only the gesture of mimicking a slow karate chop, with only your index and middle out. Drei paused for a moment, before sitting down. You gave him another carrot/peanut butter before scratching him behind the ears. You noted that he had an involuntary reflex, in the form of his leg, kicking while you scratched him.

You got up, prepared another carrot for Drei, and repeated the gesture. Drei sat, earning him another carrot. As you got ready to repeat the voice command, your mom came downstairs.

"Alright. Your friend is changing in the bathroom. How did you do with Drei?" You looked at Drei, who stood up and panted, before doing the gesture again. He sat. Your mom looked impressed.

"Wow, in the time it took for me to find clothes and the treats. Drei is a really fast learner." She handed you a bag.

"Drei." Drei looked at your mom, standing up and walking over to her.

"Sit." Drei sat down. Your mom pet him.

"Good boy, Drei." Your mom told him as he panted. Eventually, she stood up.

"Alright. Use the treats to train him some more, and move it to the living room. Me and Kawaii~Chan are taking over the kitchen." You nodded, grabbing the carrot bag, bag of treats, and jar of peanut butter, and moved to the living room, as you got ready, you heard footsteps before Kawaii~Chan walked into view. She was wearing jean shorts and a pink short sleeved shirt. She walked over to Drei, giving him one last pet before walking into the kitchen. As they got to work, you continued teaching the new family dog new tricks.
