M∆CHINES pt.2 (the hospital)

"The exit is right over here" Andy told us while we were still trying to find a way out of the damn vent. "Okay,did you radio Dave and the others yet?" I asked brushing more cobwebs out of my face "yeah they're moving out to the Luna's Dave and Taddie are gonna get the truck running" andy informed me as from up a head "okay here's the exit,Hayden you kick out the cover and we'll try to sneak out of here in detected" Andy said rolling over to allow Hayden room to reposition himself to kick out the cover to the air vent leading outside into the forest,with on forceful kick Hayden sent the cover of the air vent flying off into the tree and he slide his way out onto the ground,Andy followed then Brandon then me. "Okay guys stay behind the tree line so we don't draw any attention" I informed the group as we walked into the forest as we went in the direction of the city. Hours passed without anyone saying a thing until we heard branches breaking behind us "what was that?" Hayden asked "probably just a deer or something" Brandon responded "no it sounded too loud for a deer,You do think it's..." I paused for a moment and looked out into the darkness of the forest scanning the area for any sign on life when a pair of glowing eyes shined in out direction,followed by a second pair,then a third and a fourth,before we had time to react for he situation a group of 8 blood thirsty wolves surrounded us closing in on us "yeah I think it is" Hayden said as we all slowly began to back I to eachother staring down the wolves that slowly began to surround us "no one move, I have a plan" I said as I slowly bent down the the ground and picked up a rock "what are you going to play fetch?" Brandon snapped at me "will you shut up I have a plan" I snapped back as i looked to the tree branch a short distance in front of us before throwing the rock as hard and accurate as I could "what the fuck kind of plan was that!?" Hayden snapped before we heard the loud screech of an owl I hit with the rock suddenly the wolves were took their focus off of us and on the sound of the owl "a damn good one now run!" I shouted as we all bolted before the wolves knew where we went,we ran out of the forest hoping the wolves would follow us but soon we heard them chasing after us. Running as fast we could we still couldn't put run the wolves,I felt a huge weight jump on my back and I feel to the ground before feeling two sets of sharp,dagger like teeth gnawing into my biceps before I heard a loud gun shot the the wolves jaws unclenched from my arm and fell off me, a second shot went off before I heard the wolves begin to run back into their woodland hunting ground "are you okay?" I heard Hayden ask pulling me up off the ground,revolver in hand "yeah thanks" I said standing up,ignoring the sharp pain in my arm "your lucky I'm a good shot" Hayden said "how's your arm?" He continued to add "hurts like a mother fucking bitch" I said "hey where've you guys been?" We heard a call coming in from the distance, it was Taddie "playing fetch with the dogs" I said motioning to the 2 dead wolves in the ground "damn man they almost took your arm off" Brent said "is that part of your bone?!" Andy asked stuffing my bit mark "what?" I questioned studying it myself to see a small flash of white sticking out of my arm "no I think that's snoopy's tooth" I said pulling the tooth from my arm with a loud string of obscenities following it "here we gotta get that cleaned up come one Dave and Benn are over here" Brent said leading the rest of us over the an old run down house that was once owned by the Luna's before they fled the city. Benn was sitting in the flat bed of the truck with a drink in hand while Dave was working on the engine "old yeller got a hold of Nick,we got a first aid kit around here somewhere?" Brandon added as we walked into the garage with Brent "yeah I saw one in the bathroom I'll go get it" Benn said jumping from the flat bed to the oil stained garage floor while I took a seat on an old tool box to rest,playing with the wolves tooth in my hand "so how did the wolf catch out of the lot of you nick? My money would've been on Andy" Dave asked not taking his head out from under the good over the car to look at us "they must've though Andy was too tiny for diner" I said with a smirk "hey!" Andy shouted from the corner of the garage looking through old boxes of junk "hey man I'd rather by tiny then diner" Brandon added leaning against the truck "fake enough" Andy huffed looking back into the box for anything useful "here's a tire iron" Andy said holding up an X shaped tool "throw it in the back incase we need it" Dave instructed still working on the trucks engine "here that first aid kit" Benn announced walking back into the room "okay cool,Hayden you fix up his arm Benn try the engine now" Dave said backing away from the truck while Benn handed Hayden the white box of medical supplies "hold still" Hayden said crouching down while he moved the blood soaked leave of m shirt out of the way of my wound,he began to while away the blood with an alcohol soaked cloth that stung like hell,he inspected the bite makes to make sure nothing else was noticeably wrong with them "looks good now let's just but the bandages on" Hayden said grabbing the bandages from the box and began to wrap them around my bicep. "Hey man thanks for saving my ass back there" I said as he continued to wrap my arm "no problem,my dad saved your dad,I saved you,seems like my family's joke to say your asses" Hayden said packing up the box and walking away,I wanted to say something but didn't,it was useless. Was pulled from my thoughts by the sound of an engine starting up "okay we got the car to work,andy you ride up front with me since you know the directions everyone else in the flat bed" Dave said closing the hood of the car as we all got ready to pack I to the vehicle. Benn and I opened the garage door and went to hop in the flat bed and we were out. We took the back roads so we could avoid being seen and made out way out too the old hospital "so what's the plan? Get in get the people and get out?" Brent asked "not quite. We'll get the people out,Brent you and Dave are gonna set up some explosives at the base of the hospital, once we get out of there we fire bomb the place to hell and destroy all their research" I said looking off into the distance behind the truck to make sure we were being followed "I like it" Brandon said smiling at the thought of bringing that place down on top of the scarecrows heads "hey that reminds me everyone out these on so no one sees out faces,were not used to doing day operations so better safe then sorry" I said passing out black bandanas with skull graphics on them as we all tied them around our faces. We drove in silence for the rest of the trip. Once the hospital began to become visible over the tree tops we began to pick up our weapons and were ready to storm the hospital. Benn left his in the garage so he took the tire iron with him. I took a hand gun and hunting knife. The we stoped the truck 200 feet from the hospital and began to like out. And snuck around to the back. We split Into 3 groups, Me,Brandon and Andy stands on the left flak while Benn and a Hayden moved along the tree line to the right flak while Dave and Brent moved back to work on the fire bombs. Once we were in position we attempted to get the attention of the scarecrows so they would come closer to the trees,once they walked over Brandon clubbed the scarecrow with a fallen tree branch effectively knocking him unconscious while benn beat the second scarecrow with his tire iron. Both teams ran out of the trees and ran to the back entrance of the hospital and let Hayden kick the door in. "The civilians are being held on the 3rd floor rooms 3B,2J and 4A" andy informed us as we looked at the old dusty map on the wall of the hospital. "Okay here's the plan Hayden and Andy you get 3B Benn and Brandon you get 4A I'll go it alone and get 2J" I said directing the men "you sure?" Benn asked "yeah I can handle the scarecrows myself" I said before heading off down the hallway. I was quite to not attract attention from the passing guards. Eventually I was able to sneak by the guards and make it too the second floor before I ran into the issue of 2 scarecrow guards coming down the staircase blocking the 3rd floor,I ducked bending the door way and waited for the scarecrows to pass before attacking them from behind,quietly cutting ones throat not to alarm the second before tossing him over the railing to the first floor landing below. I hurried to the 3rd floor before anyone else was attracted to the sound of the scarecrow guard hitting the floor. Quickly I found the hall that said "rooms I-L"and went searching for 2J. After a few minutes of searching I found the large room with a large glass window you could look into and and see a young attractive woman strapped down to a large metal table with 3 doctors surrounding her. One had a syringe in hand while the other 2 gelding her still while she attempted to struggle her way free,quickly I shot through the glass putting a bullet though the head of one doctor effectively halting the experiment. One scarecrow ran to the door to see where the shot had come from before I was able to drive my knife into his sternum and dropping his lifeless body to the floor and chasing into the room myself. The last remaining scarecrow reached for a phone most likely to call for back up but I quickly fire 2 shots at him before he was able to dial. "Who are you?" The woman strapped to the table asked "A Runaway" I replied up strapping her from the table "I'm Victoria" she said "okay Victoria,I'm gonna get you out of here okay?" I said as we was able to sit up on the table before unstrapping her legs. We got her up off the table and we let the room when 2 guards spotted us,I raised my gun and fired at them hitting one while the other ducked behind the corner of the hall for cover, Victoria and I ran to the stair case were 3 more scarecrows were running up "stay back!" I shouted at her while I jumped into the railing of the stairs and slid down knocking into the group of guards knife ready,the other scarecrow guard could be heard running down the hall after us so I ran to stole one of the scarecrows assault weapons and ran back to the 3rd floor landing and pushed Victoria I to cover so she wouldn't be hit in the cross fire before I opened up on the remaining guard but not before he was able to get a shot off on me striking me in the lower ribcage. It felt like being stabbed the ought the chest with a hot poker. "Oh my god you're hit" Victoria said as I fell down to the floor and propped myself against a wall "yeah I know,behind you!" I said as loudly as my injury allowed me to do before raising my hand gun to shoot the guard at the top of the stair case leading to the top floor,causing his body to roll down the stairs and into the corner next to us "listen, take this radio and try and call my brother Dave and tell him to get the fire bombs planted,then I want you to go find my friends they're wearing masks just like mine they'll get you to safety" I said cringing in pain for the bullet wound "what about you?" Victoria asked "I'm hit,I'd just slow you down. Don't worry about me I'll get myself out but just incase I can't I want you to find my friends and get the fuck out of here" I explained riving in pain. "You know you never told me your name" Victoria said "Nick,Nick Escamillia" I said pulling down my mask so I could speak and breathe easier. "Thanks for saving me nick" Victoria said before kissing me and running down the stairs to follow my instructions. I used the gun I has taken from the scarecrow to stand myself up and slowly began drag myself down the hallway,the 100 foot hallways seemed miles long as I felt my strength begin to deteriorate the further I walked. I made it to the first right hand corner I came to and saw Andy coming around the corner stopping and raising his gun when he saw me only to lower it when he realized I wasn't a scarecrow,before we had a chance to speak a cold chill swept through my body and I felt my body go numb as I fell into Andy before everything went pitch black and all I heard were the faint cries of someone screaming my name before the voices went deaf and all I heard was silence
