Percy Weasley X Reader

"So five candies for you, five candies for me" you say as you pop another chocolate frog in your mouth allowing the chocolate to melt in you mouth before checking to see what wizard you got this time. You roll your eyes upon seeing Dumbledore smiling up at you "I got Dumbledore again, what about you?" You look up at the redhead sitting across from you in the train compartment.

"Dumbledore as well, he's everywhere. On every newsstand and in every book, you can't go one day without seeing or hearing about him, it's getting quite boring actually"

"Completely agree, I swear yesterday I looked into the fireplace and saw his face staring back at me. It scared me senseless" at this you both burst out into a fit of laughter.

After your laughing had subsided you look up at him again in all seriousness,

"You know Percy I really missed seeing you this summer, letters just really aren't enough"

"You ought to have come down to the burrow then"

"You know how my mum gets, she never lets me leave the house for more than a day" You shake your head in disappointment, you couldn't tell him the real reason why you couldn't visit. Your mother caught you writing a letter... a letter confessing how you really felt about Percy. She made you burn it and banned you from ever going over there again, she thought you were too young to have a boyfriend even if you were in your last year anyways and already an adult in Wizarding world. Since the letter was never sent you lost all courage of telling him.

"Anyways... I heard you're head boy, good job!" Percy blushes at your words and hands you his badge. You turn it over in your hand marveling all the little details engraved in it "woah it's so pretty, you should probably go and patrol the corridor or something like that"

He checked his watch before getting up,

"You're right I have the second shift so I'll see you later in the great hall" you nod and after he leaves you change into your robes as to avoid the hassle later.

Looking out the window you quickly become bored and decide to write another letter, this time your mother wasn't around to ruin it. It was a lot easier to for you to write out your feelings than to say them. Your letter was full of detail and emotions and after you were done writing it you carefully placed it into your trunk, not ready to give it to him just yet.

It had been a couple of days and you had completely forgotten about the letter you had written prior, being extremely busy with your classes and all the homework. You were now sitting in the library finishing up some herbology homework when Percy approached you and slid a sheet of paper in front of you.

"What's this?" You asked taking it and looking at him

"I recently got this in the mail and it's from you" you look up at him and down at the letter a couple of times before realizing what it was, your heart sinks and your face burns, you realize what this was... a rejection

"D-did you read it?"

"Yeah I did"

"Look Percy, I wasn't thinking straight when I wrote this please don't let his ruin our friendship. Please" you plead with him while standing up abruptly and gathering your books

"Wait Y/N, you don't know what I'm going to say about this"

"Sorry Percy this is already embarrassing enough for me, you weren't supposed to get that letter and I'm really not in the mood to get rejected. Just tell me another time"

You rush out of the library, tears threatening to escape. You enter the Y/H common room and then up to your dorm, you plop face down onto your bed and groan loudly

who sent the letter?

You get up and search through your trunk, but find it empty.

It was someone who has access to my dorm and knows I've written a letter before and never had a chance to deliver it.

You let out a loud groan again

Of course it was Y/FN (friends name)

There was nothing you could do about it now so you decided not to be mad about it, but you were extremely disappointed with Percy, how could he approach you so calm and collected and reject you right to your face... wait did he ever actually reject you? You left before he could say something and embarrass you even more but he never actually rejected you.

A couple of weeks had passed and you had managed to avoid Percy, whenever you saw him in the hallway you would turn the other way or engage in someone's conversation even if you didn't know them.

It was the first Hogsmeade trip of the year when he finally managed to get you alone. All of your friends ditched you and decided to stay back at the castle and study for a lotions exam, you on the other hand couldn't wait to eat more chocolate frogs so you left as early as possible. You managed to avoid Percy the whole morning as he was busy with his head boy duties, but as you were sitting outside honey dukes unwrapping your fourth frog he approached and before you could do anything he sat down beside you.

"Before you try and leave, please talk to me Y/N" he turned to you with pleading eyes

"About what?"

"About anything, especially why you won't talk to me... I think I know why but I want to be sure"

"About how you rejected me? And now I feel like our friendship is ruined and it's all my fault"

"Well actually I never did that you just jumped to conclusions, if anything you rejected me"

"Wow thanks for making me feel better" you roll your eyes and reply in a monotone voice "anyways how could I reject you if you never asked me out?"

"If you gave me a chance to talk you would know that I feel the same"

"About what?"

"Holy shit Y/N! I like you okay?!? When I read your letter I thought it was a joke so I came to you to talk about it, but you just had to jump to conclusions. I was hurt you thought I would reject you"

Your face burns and you avoid eye contact before speaking up,

"I-I'm sorry about that, how can I make it up to you?"

"You can go on a date with me?"

At his question you perk up and grinning you stick your hand out for him to shake it

"Deal"

So another update! This is sort of inspired by the new movie "to all the boys I've loved before" but I started writing it before watching the movies so technically all similarities are just coincidences
