Summoned

Chapter 2

Shutting her eyes, Lyra waited until the blinding light faded. When she reopened them, she couldn't help but rub her eyes and blink continuously to see if she was hallucinating. She was standing in the back of the group of students, but all around them wasn't the classroom walls they were all too familiar with, it was stone walls.

As the other students were looking around at their surroundings as well, Jen grabbed ahold of Lyra's arm. "Are you alright? Are you ok?", concerned, she asked her friend.

"I'm fine." Flashing an awkward smile, Lyra answered.

"Do you know where we are?" Jen couldn't help but ask, looking around the barren but large room.

Shaking her head, Lyra told her, "Mm-mm, I don't know."

As Lyra heard the others questioning where they were as well, she lowered her gaze to the floor to think. As her eyes lowered, she noticed white lines and runes of some sort that looked all too familiar. As she looked where the lines were headed she went behind the last person in the group and noticed the lines made one side of two huge circles, one within the other about a foot or two apart, with runes in between the first two circles and inside the center as well. It was the circle that appeared in their classroom and they were standing inside of it.

'Seriously?', Lyra voiced inside her head. Her expression being one of disbelief. 'Please don't be that. Please don't be that of all things', she kept telling herself over and over, even though she knew that it was most likely that.

"Ah, I got it!", everyone was shocked to hear someone yelling. Everyone turned to Jason, the class clown and one of the more popular kids in the class.

"What did you get? Do you know where we are?" His friend Shane urgently asked.

"Dude, even better that that. I bet we have powers now hahaha." Jason excitedly looked at his friend. Everyone was confused except for Lyra, who only looked like she wanted to sigh at his answer. Jason continued, "Guys, don't you get it! We were transported to a different world! We're heroes! This is awesome!" He continued ranting excitedly.

"Wait. Transported? Like in those mangas and animes?" The guy who was arguing with his girlfriend earlier, Jake asked.

Confused, his girlfriend Alyssa, glared at Jason. "How are you so sure we're in a different world? What if someone just took us? What if we were kidnapped? Stop being so dumb and figure something out!" She stated.

"Hey now, no need to get so pissy. Who knows, maybe Jace is right", Shane said as he tried to lighten up the mood from her remark.

Before she could argue back, a loud creak echoed throughout the room. The sound of an old wooden door opening made everyone look towards the door. All they saw was an old man in a red robe who stared at them for a moment before he deferentially said to the person beside him, "Princess, they seem to have appeared in this old summoning room instead."

"So it would seem." A melodious voice answered back as the owner to the voice stepped into the room.
