Mischievous Web Of Lies

It was a foreign and euphoric feeling,
Surrounded by 'happiness' and 'joy',
I was in a void filled with endless thoughts,
And had become custom
to your controlling demeanour.

I suppose that was my idea of love,
My escape from reality.
I hadn't taken any notice of it then,
I was young and naive.
I knew nothing but you,
And I thought you would've given me the world.

I was hypnotised by your deep brown eyes,
And was manipulated by your 'sweet' words.
I didn't know how to let go.
I was blinded by my feelings,
As I claimed you were the only one for me.

I wish I'd listened,
When they'd warned me to keep away.
But there was something about you,
That had almost instantly forced me to stay.

It was only then I had realised,
what I'd really gotten myself into.
And just like the rest of them,
I had fallen into your mischievous web of lies.
