I opened my eyes after being awakened by a soft stirring in bed.

"Goodmorning." Everett's sleepy face smiled at me subtly.

"Stop talking." I grumbled. I'm not a morning person.

"I take it you're not a morning person? I'm gonna make coffee." Everett chuckled at my apparent and very immediate irritation and stood up to make coffee.

I rubbed my eyes and sighed deeply before reluctantly rolling out of the most uncomfortable bed in the world from the most uncomfortable sleep in the world. Without responding to Everett's offer for caffeinated fuel, I shuffled sleepily to the bathroom and turned on the shower.

I got dressed in this:

"Coffees done!" Everett said as I emerged from the bathroom to find him cleaned up and dressed as well, sitting neatly at a small table while he sipped a steaming cup of fresh coffee

"Coffees done!" Everett said as I emerged from the bathroom to find him cleaned up and dressed as well, sitting neatly at a small table while he sipped a steaming cup of fresh coffee.

I smirked. I was kind of, grateful for him. As I shook the thought from my head, I grabbed a to go cup and poured my drink.

"So, what's on the agenda for today Ross?" I asked non chalantly, you know, like I wasn't a stowaway.

"For you? Nothing. You're staying here until the extraction team comes for us. Well rendezvous here at the meeting point and go back home." Ross scoffed at my question.

"Really?" I turned around as I leaned on the counter and rolled my eyes greatly before sipping my coffee.

"What'd you expect me to say!? That you'd be on this assignment!? Hell no Murph it's too dangerous!" Ross protested again with an almost manic giggle.

"Then what have you been training me for the past 5 months!" I argued back, "Come on E. You know I can protect myself out there. And you know I'd be a damn good asset." I pointed out to him as I tried to sell his decision.

Ross gave me the "Dad" look,

"This is real life stuff. This isn't training. Real guns, real bad guys, in fact, one of the worst." Everett mentioned to scare me.

"Did you see the eye of concern? Everett someone has to have your back in there! You're.." I put a hand out to him before holding back my word,

"Old?" He chuckled sarcastically.

"No! No I wasn't going to say that!" I fought back a giggle.

"Ok, I mean.. you're no spring chicken, man." I bursted into a fit of chuckles as Everett rolled his eyes.

"Fine. But you do as I say. And if you deviate, even ONCE in the smallest manner, our deal is off and I will send your ass back to jail on a year sentence, AND CALL YOUR FATHER." Everett laid out his terms sternly.

I smiled with satisfaction,
"Hell yeah. That's the spirit! So! When do we roll out?" I asked excitedly.

"Not in that, no. You're not going dressed like that!" Everett laughed at my attire.
