Iris' P.O.V:
(Flash Back)
"Okay." I sigh as I close the door behind me lightly so mom doesn't hear. I switch on the lights, making Ryder and Mason groan and huff like 7 year olds.

"Close the light." I hear Mason say. I look up and watch the two idiots lay ontop of Ryders bed. Mason rolls over to the other side of the bed and sighs dramatically.

"Let me guess. You two have been drinking again?" I roll my eyes.

"Iris. I'm only going ask you nicely this one time. Switch off the light and fuck off." Ryder says. "Mason, bro. Your my bestfriend and I love you bro, but if somehow your foot ends up hitting my stomach one more time when you pass out in my room, i'm going to fucking kill you." Ryder adds.

"Too early for you bullshit man, too early." Mason mumbles.

"It's 10pm. I'm guessing you guys have been drinking all day again." I mumble. I walk towards the bed, making Ryder roll over before I drop down on the bed.

"What do you want?" Ryder mumbles.

"I spoke to the new guard today." I state as I smile lightly.

"And why are you so proud of speaking to a guard?" Mason mumbles, his face stays squashed against the pillow and he keeps his eyes closed.

"Can we have the light off whilst we speak?" Ryder asks.

"Because." I ignore Ryder and speak to Mason. "Me speaking to the guard got us one step closer." I shrug and look down at Mason when I hear him snore. I shove his arm and move the duvet off him. My eyes fall onto the body. How can a 19 year old be this toned and perfect?

"Iris. Stop checking me out and cut to the chase." Mason says quickly, making me flush red. I hear my twin brother laugh against the pillow before he looks up.

"Shut the fuck up, Masey." My brother says.

"So!" I say quickly. Ryder sits up and presses his back against the headboard before Mason starts to slowly sit up. "The guard used to work for dad, they were actually friends." I add. Ryder freezes slightly and Mason quickly look at Ryder and then me. I watch my brother stare at the phone number scribbled on the ripped piece of paper thats between my fingers.

"Fuck, Iris." Ryder sighs.

"Ry, I called him but it goes straight to voicemail. It's a different number to the one he had before. He has a voicemail set up, just like his old one. We should keep tryi-" I start and get cut off.

"Iris. We're too drunk for this alright? We'll talk about it when we're sober." Mason says, making me shake my head.

"We're-" I start but get cut off.

"Just leave it...Ryder is only going to snap at you." He says quietly.

What else is new?

"Maybe if we try on a different number, like yours Mason, he might pick up." I suggest. Mason sighs as he throws his head back against the pillow.

"He doesn't pick up your calls, why would he answer a call from an unknown number?" Ryder asks.

"Because." I shrug. "Maybe he recognizes our number and is scared to pick up." I say quickly. I watch Mason as he gives me that 'You are fucking stupid look' and let out a sigh. "Maybe...Dad doesn't know how to explain to us why he actually left in the first place." I say slowly.

"Mom and him had a divorce, that's why he left." Ryder says.

"Yes but we're still his kids. We-" I start and get cut off.
