"Audrey, let me ask again. Why are you here?" Mike said, much more serious this time.
"I..um.."
"And why are you here?" He turned to look at Ryder. "Oh, I see. Are you guys together?" He smirked. "Is this a date? And nice dress, Audrey," he chuckled.
"Leave us alone, Mike. We were just about to leave and just a for your information, we aren't dating!" Ryder growled.
"Yeah, Mike. He's just my roommate and I didn't mean to come here. You wouldn't understand."
"Okay, then. Let me bring you home," Mike gave out his hand, waiting for me to hold onto his hand.
"As if, she's going with me. Together. And don't you have you have your own business to do?" He raised and eyebrow as he held my hand.
"Like what?" Mike smirked and he chuckled.
"Like having fun with your girls," Ryder said as he rolled his eyes while looking away from Mike.
"Pathetic, what about you? Aren't you just the same?" Said Mike.
"Um...okay guys. Enough arguing and good to see you Mike. Um...Ryder and I will be going now...Bye!" I said awkwardly as I drag Ryder with me to the exit.
We walked out in silence until Ryder decided to break it. "How do you even know Mike? Let me guess, because he's the well-known guy thanks to his rich father," he said as he rolled his eyes.
"Yes, but I didn't notice that it was him until he introduced himself to me earlier before I met you."
"Oh wow, never knew he was such a gentleman," he said sarcastically. And I rolled my eyes at how sarcastic he was. "Why do you guys hate eachother so badly?" I questioned him.
"This is our business and someone like you shouldn't get involved," he said while patting my head.
"What do you mean someone like me shouldn't get involved?" I questioned him with a confused look on my face as he chuckled then squuezed my cheeks.
"You're really cute," was all he said.
"Noooo! I'm not!" I whined as I tried hitting him on the shoulder but he kept laughing.
"That's not funny!" I growled at him but he still wouldn't stop so I stayed silent and he stopped laughing and hugged me unexpectedly.
"I'm sorry," he said, sounding sincere and not at the same time.
"Fine," I let out a huff as I said it.
"Yay!" He childishly cheered and hugged me even more.
______________________The next day
It is already 6.30 in the morning and I've just finished showering. School starts at 7.00 and I haven't dried my hair yet. I switched on the hairdryer and dried my hair and change into a long grey sleeve crop with a pair of mid length shorts and walked out of the bathroom to find Ryder still in bed.
"Ryder, we don't have time already. It's 6.41 and you're still in bed," I sighed.
"5 more minutes," he mumbled.
That's it. I put my hands on my hips and said, "Ryder, if you don't wake up this instance, I'll be leaving without you because I don't wanna be late on my first day of school." like I'm his mother or something.
"Fine." He slowly lift his head up and walked slowly to the bathroom then closed it.
I smiled victoriously and sat down on my bed and took out my phone from my black mini backpack and checked for messages.
- 10 minutes later -
Ryder soon unlocked and walked out of the bathroom in his uniform ready for our second day of school together.
We walked over to the door, about to leave when I noticed he didn't carry his bag.
"Where's your bag?" I asked.
"I don't need one, it's gonna be a free period today anyways," he shrugged.
Right.
____________________We entered the class, 4 more minutes until 7 and the teacher still hasn't arrive yet.
"Where's the teacher?" I asked Ryder.
"Don't you know? The teacher never arrives in time. It'll always take 2 to 3 minutes after 7 for the teacher to arrive."
"Oh," was the only thing I can say.
We went to sit at our seats and I wasn't really glad to see Mike again.
"Good to see you again, Rachel," said Mike who was already at his seat.
Who on earth is Rachel?
"Morning to you too," I lied through my teeth, looking away from him and quickly sat down.
I took out my phone and went on social media when someone interrupted me, "Psst." I followed the sound of where it was coming from and looked on my right.
It was a guy in black and brown hair. "Um, hi?" I weirdly responded. "Oh, hi. I just wanted to introduce myself to you. My name's Phillips. Phillips Howards."
He seems nice.
"Hi, nice to meet you, Phillips. I'm sure you know who I am. Nice to meet you." I pulloed out my hand and he shook it with his.
"Good morning everyone!" Mr. Hook finally entered the classroom, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Today is another free period so do whatever you one," he said as he sat on his chair while he rested his arms by the back of his head.
Yay!
As I was about to look back at my phone, a blond guy was kicking on the door with a very exciting face. He walked to the front of class and cheered, "Hello everyone, I'm back!" as I hear some people sighing, especially Mike.
"Who is he?" I asked Phillips.
"He's Lucas Hamilton."
I frowned as I turned back to him. He was already at his sit in the second row of the classroom. As I continued looking at him, he turned around and our eyes locked for a while until he decided to say hello.
"Nice to meet you, new girl," he sent a wink to me like he was expecting me.
Then soon, the whole class was filled with giggles and 'oohs' while turning their heads to look at me. I could feel my cheeks already red.
But not all of them seemed to be happy. Mike was glaring at me while Ryder had a big frown on his face from the other side of the classroom.
This isn't gonna go well.
