Chapter 20 : I'll always be there for you

"Oh no," he mumbled.

"Mr. Hamilton, could you please let go of Ms. Woodstock?" The principal ordered.

He let go of my hands and stood up to face the principal. I immediately sat up, and secure my towel.

How did the principal know?

Ryder appeared beside the principal and gave me a thumbs up.

Oh, so this is his doing. Now wonder he was late. I smiled back at Ryder and he did the same.

"Mr. Hamilton, I need a word with you in my office together with your friend, Kevin."

Lucas glared at Ryder angrily but soon turned into a defeated expression.

"Ms. Woodstock, the tape?"

"Right." I nodded and opened the drawer and gave her the tape. The principal and Lucas walked out of my dorm and gave Ryder a pat on the back for his confession by the door and walked away.

"Thanks....Ryder," I blushed as I thanked Ryder for what he did.

"No problem. Did he touch you though?" He asked, sounding very concern.

"He was about to, but thanks to you....he didn't manage to. He was about to take my virginity away as revenge and I was really afraid that he'll get away with it.... I was weak," I averted to look at the floor in disappointment.

"Hey, hey, hey. It's alright. Can't blame you, you didn't expect that at all, neither did I." He shrugged.

"How did you know I was in danger?" I asked.

"I'm your roomie, of course I knew!" He chuckled.

"Haha,"

Ryder's POV

"I'm your roomie, of course I knew!" I chuckled.

"Haha," she laughed.

The reason I knew was because on the way to my dorm, I saw Lucas knocking on the door. I went to hide, wondering what was he up to this time.

When the door opened, he immediately pushed Audrey in. Then, I ran to the principal when I heard a scream. I told the principal what I saw and on the way to our dorm, I told her about Kevin stalking her for info.

Luckily, she believed me.

It took awhile to walk to our dorm because her office is quite far away and the principal wouldn't be the type to run her heels off so we just speeded across the hallway together.

I was glad to hear that she's safe and I was quite mad to hear her saying he's about to take her virginity. That's just so messed up. Revenge on virginity? That's low, dude. Even for me.

Audrey's POV

"So.....movies?" I asked, waiting for a response.

"Yeah, movies," he said with one his sweet smiles.

Wait, what?

No.

Audrey, don't say that!

"After I take a bath," he said, and walked away.

We watched the movie as it ends. I pulled more tissues out of the tissue box and blew my nose after crying at the sad part.

"I don't get why girls like you would like to cry over not so sad parts of the movie," he said and shakes his head.

"Maybe guys like you wouldn't understand," I shot back grumpily.

But deep down, I kinda agree. I have no idea why sad scenes affect me while scare jumping ones don't.

Ryder patted my head and sat on his bed, pulling out his homework from his bag and started writing down his answers.

"Umm.... Ryder?" I asked.

"Mhm?" He responded, still writing down his answers.

"Thanks...you know...for what happened," I said, avoiding his direction. 

"No problem. I'll always be there for you," he whispered the last few words back.

I got off my bed and gave him a warm hug. When, I pulled away he looked confusingly at me. I just chuckled and walked back to my bed.

"Goodnight," I whispered as I pulled the covers over me.

"Goodnight," he said as he was standing behind me then lightly kissed my forehead.

I was shocked at first, but smiled back anyways.

I know that it's short but I have nothing else to write before I end with the kiss on the forehead scene.
