Chapter 3:
"Hey Jayfeather! Are my kits inside?" a soft voice asked.
Cinderheart?
"Nope. But you've better catch the two before they get into trouble." Jayfeather mewed.
"Okay! Bye!" she hurried away.
"You're supposed to stay in your den..." Jayfeather tried to scold her, but she had already sped off. Apparently having kits did not seem to tire her one bit.
It was great knowing she and Lionblaze were now truly together.
They even had two beautiful kits, Leopardkit and Silverkit.
So why was he slightly sad?
Or even disappointed?
He knew he was feeling wrong.
After all, Cinderheart was only a friend.
A friend.
Even though a while ago, she had watched the sun set with him... and she had placed her warm grey head on his shoulder...
No. She was Lionblaze's mate. His brother's mate. He couldn't love anyone. And he definitely couldn't love Cinderheart.
So who was he missing?
He shook his head and went into the medicine cat den. He managed to sense Cinderheart and Lionblaze entwining their tails.
How sweet.
