"I shall set in place your cruelty, and send your hearts for the chase!"

The man could hardly yield, for his love was kept unsealed

With haste she hit the bands, in a fall from her demands

He held the babe in hand, with love he could not brand

She took the blow and fell alone, a soul lost to the stone
