my mind is hazy, eyes watery
your voice, i can hear it
but.
i can't make out any words, or sentences.
nothing, but your deep, honey-coated voice.

you pull me closer, into your chest, and i breathe in
your strong minty scent, coated with love                                     (you thought you could hide it,
did you? )

soft lips, pulled into a smile, press against my hair, across my forehead, as you pushed
some of my bangs out of the way.
my lips, too, just like myself, seemed not to have a mind of their own;
they follow yours instead.

relaxing into your warm, welcoming arms,
i shifted and curled around you like a koala.
arms slung lazily around your neck,
and legs wound tightly around your waist.
i let a contented sigh slip out of my lips,
and felt the low rumbling of your chest
when you laughed, and i replied with shy giggles of my own.

my breath hitches when i notice
our proximity; forehead against forehead,
noses brushing against each other,
your shallow breathing pattern against my lips.
"iloveyouiloveyouiloveyouiloveyou
iloveyou", my mind repeats.

our warm breathes meet and you committed a crime for the very first time, and more to come—
you stole my heart, my breath (away),
and you
encased me in your own heart
and right there and then,
                                                       i felt it.

your heart was racing, just like mine.
