it's so funny how alone you can feel
even when there are more than thirty others
in the room with you,
even when they aren't strangers.
when they say
"get together, it's circle time."
and at that very moment,
you look around and realise
how you can't trust anyone,
can't allow yourself to.
right when you think,
you can trust someone
your lips are sealed shut,
and you find yourself rendered
helpless and unable to confide.
you'd feel more alone in that
room full of people,
then when you're truly
on your own.
