Chapter 9: Truth & Tests

Opening his golden brown eyes, Hinata flew out of bed immediately. Looking around his room he could sense something was different but he couldn't put a finger on what it was. He saw his gym bag on the floor next to his bed, ususally it's suposed to be trown on the floor randomly but he didn't think much of it. What he did think about was why he had slept in his training clothes. Huh, weird.

Hinata walked downstairs ready to get breakfast. Today he wanted some cereal, he took out the milk and the cereal package. Hinata loved cereal that were in different colors like blue, pink, orange, yellow, stuff like that, it's the best breakfast in the world according to Hinata. Usually he didn't get to eat the cereal as often because of his parents concluded that it was on the same level as candy for their son. But they weren't here to see him. The bowls were hard to get, they were placed on the highest shelf in the kitchen. Aw man, they thought of that too, huh? he thought while trying to jump up and grab a bowl. Hinata jumped and jumped and in the end he couldn't reach them.

Aw Dang it.

At morning practice everyone was a little tired, even coach Ukai. It looked like everyone was dead inside except for Hinata. He got really confused. Now that he thinks about it, he couldn't remember what happened last night.

After his turn to spike Hinata ran over to Sugawara and Nishinoya who was having a conversation, something about the libero position, anyway that's not important.

"Hey Suga-san, Noya-senpai!" He smiled brightly. When Hinata talked to people who felt down it was just a matter of time before they lit up too, it was like he was a walking sunshine that beams happiness to anyone around him.

"Oi Shouyou! What's up!?" Noya hugged him around the neck like he did at the practice tournament. 

"Do you guys know what happened last night? I can't seem to recall at all and it's bugging me."

"Oh right! You were sleeping the whole ride home and you wouldn't wake up, like at all, no matter what we did. Jeez, what did you do to make yourself that tired?"

*flashbacks to the rainbow puke incident*

"O-oh you know, I tried really hard to win, see, I jumped like this high!" Hinata jumped up with his hand in the air to show them what he meant.

"Yeah you did! It was awesome like always!" Suga complimented that made Hinata really happy.

"Anyway so yeah, Kageyama tried to wake you up but couldn't so he carried you to your bed and I went and turned on the lights and Tsukishima was also sleeping on the buss aswell but we didn't want to wake him up, oh and the buss driver blah blah blah..." As Nishinoya told him about yesterday Hinata only picked up on one thing. Kageyama had lifted him up! Did he give him a piggy-back ride, or threw him over his shoulder- or what if he held him in his arms!? Hinata's face felt really hot and of course Noya and Sugawara had to point that out.

They talked for a bit until Ukai and Tadeka called everyone over to announce that they were aiming for the winter tournament a month from now. They also pointed out that all the 1st-years had a couple of tests coming up. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi was fine with it they hadn't any problems with thier grades, though Hinata and Kageyama was another story. They all sat still in silence on the floor, well until Tadeka finished what he was saying.

"-and id you fail you can't come to the tournament with the rest of us says the principle. Hinata-kun, Kageyama-kun, be sure to ace those tests! *or we're dead*" Tadeka clearly thought it was unfair for all of us when he looked at Hinata's and Kageyama's grades, so this is what the end looks like.

Everyone panicked, Sugawara shook their shoulders telling them to ace it, Daichi shook Suga telling him to stop pressuring them, Tanaka and Nishinoya started some kind of weird cheerleader shout, Asahi started panicking in a corner his own and the rest of the team ran around in cirkles. On the floor sat the four first years.

"We're going to ace it, right Tsukki?"

"Of course we're acing it Yamaguchi! Though I can't say the same thing for those two idiots." Tsukishima pointed over to Hinata and Kageyama. Both looking like their souls had left them.

"How are we suposed to ace it?" Kageyama asked looking at the wall.

"I don't know but I feel hopeless right now." Hinata crumbled up in a ball.

"Yeah."

GWAAAAH DANG IT AGAIN!
