Chapter 25

Diego POV

I don't know how I feel as I drive away from the Diablos clubhouse, or what was their clubhouse. We finally did it, we finally ended The Diablos after all they put my family through, but the price was losing her too. I knew if something happened she would sacrifice herself for the cause and I knew there would be no stopping her. It's all she ever wanted since she was a cute innocent 12 year old and her mother was torn away from her. She was never a teenage girl she was a soldier, preparing for battle.

I allow a tear to run down my cheek as I drive in solitude, she should've been coming back with me to celebrate. I pull out my cellphone and call Micks burner

"Mission accomplished." I say as he answers

"The local PD have been notified of an explosion, I'm heading there now. How's Lucy?" He replies

"She didn't make it." I stumble on the words, she was like a daughter to him, I know this will kill him as much as it's killing me.

"What do you mean she didn't fucking make it?" His voice laced with anger

"The detonator didn't work and you know nobody could've stopped her. She ran in with a belt of grenades." I reply, reliving the moment I watched her run into the building to her death

"Fuck." He bellows and I hear a thud I assume is his fist connecting with something

"I'll see if I can recover a body, give her a proper burial. Get your ass to Florida, I'll let you know what I find." He says before ending the call.

I pull up at the clubhouse and pull up next to the van holding Bones, with Bear and Knuckles stood by the door. I jump out my truck and head over

"How's he doing?" I ask Bear

"Listen for yourself" He replies and I can hear Bones hitting out inside the van. Bear opens the door and Bones glares at him, his knuckles bloodied

"You" Bones roars as he lunges out of the van straight at Bear. They fall to the ground with Bones on top of Bear and I move quickly with Knuckles helping me pull Bones off him

"I could've stopped her, why the fuck didn't you let me?" Bones screams tears running down his face

"You know we would've lost a lot of guys against two chapters of the Diablos. I did what was right for the club and as my VP you should respect my decision." Bear growls

"Fuck you, you let Vi die, she was mine I could've saved her." Bones spits as he fights against me

"I know you're hurting but I am your president do not take your grief out on me. Hit the bottle or the punching bag before you do something stupid and I have to put my foot down." Bear says poking Bones in the chest. Bones stops fighting me and Knuckles and we let him go as he storms into the clubhouse

"Church, now." Bear spits to the men that have gathered around to watch what was happening.

"Diego, join us before you leave." Bear says calmly before walking off into the clubhouse. I follow the guys inside and sit at the end of the table, Bones is missing

"The Diablo are gone." Bear roars and the men all bang their fists, hoot and holler

"We celebrate tonight, you sure you can't stay Diego? There will be plenty of good pussy around the place." Bear says looking to me

"Nah, it's been a pleasure working along side you but I gotta hit the road." I reply

"Well, you ever find yourself up this way I'd be happy to patch you into The Riding Reapers." Bear says and there are several grunts of approval from around the table
