The nurse returned to her duties, and we waited for any news about our beaten man. I saw my daughter who was sitting in the waiting room with a woman unknown to me. I approached them, I saw that my daughter was painting a picture

 - Hi honey, what are you doing here -

The young woman looked at me, she probably did not know that I was mother of Zuri, my daughter, when she heard my voice turned to me, her little hands embraced my arms

- Mommy -

- Zuri, where's your dad ? -

 - Daddy was called to the patient, he said he would come back for some time -

 - Who are you ? -

I asked the question to my peers, I guess we're the same age

- Dr. Sarah Reese, dr. Rhodes asked me to take care of Zuri for some time -

- Please -

 - What is this ? -

 - Our home, and here I am, you and daddy -

Someone sat next to me, I knew the smell it was no one other than Connor Rhodes my daughter's father and also my ex-boyfriend

 - Hi Audre -

 - Hey -

- Daddy -

 - Hi honey, I hope Dr. Reese took good care of you -

- Yes, she showed me where nurses are holding pencils and a block to draw -

- I see a beautiful picture -

 - Thank you daddy -

 - Tomorrow I'll take Zuri to your home -

 - You're welcome -

- Zuri, take your stuff, come back home -

- Connor -

 - Yes -

 - How is your patient -

 - The operation went without any complications -

- That's good -

Zuri packed her things, crayons and a drawing block, she gave to dr. Reese, she came to me, she hugged me, I put a mother's kiss on her head

- See you tomorrow -

 - Be polite to your father -

Connor took Zuri's hand out of the ER, my partner approached me

 - Dr. Choi let us interview -

 - We're going? -

- Lady ahead -

We entered room 3 where our victim of beating lay bandaged.

- Do you remember what your name is ? -

 - Jake Warner -

- Do you know why they beat you ? -

 - I do not know -

- What were you doing in that alley ? -

I left the room, where I took the radio, I reported to the officer that we need Jake Warner's address. I found out where our victim of beating lives, I returned to the room. Noah continued to interrogate our victim, seeing me, he came back for a moment

- I have his address -

 - Street Christiana Ave 22 -

 - I finish the note and go to inform his family -

 - Okay, but someone has to take care of our suspect ? -

 - I'll ask Wilcox for a favor -

 - I'm sure he'll agree -

- Was not your dad it was accidentally his Sergeant ?-

I was surprised by this question, if her partner suspected something.

- He was, and why are you asking ? -

 - He resigned from SWAT and went to the patrol officer -

- Nothing that I know of -

 - There are rumors in our neighborhood -

 - What ? -

I tried to make my voice sound normal, inside I was afraid that someone would know the truth about my relationship with Wilcox. Our relationship lasted for two years, no one even noticed that we had an affair.

 - I will not repeat rumors -

 - Noah, I'm curious about these rumors -

 - Do not repeat this to anyone, rumor has it that Wilcox had an affair and killed his wife -

- Officer Wilcox has been cleared of charges -

- Yes, but what is the truth, no one knows -

 - You know with who he was having an affair -

 - No one knows this -

I did not even know when we came to our victim's house. We approached the door and Officer Bass knocked on the door. A young woman opened the door.

 - What is going on ? -

 - Officers Bass and Donovan, if Jake Warner lives here -

- Yes -

- Who are you -

- I am his wife -

 - Please provide us your details -

- Amelia Warner -

 - We can go inside, we have to ask a few questions -

 - Of course, what happened to my husband ? -
