'Mountain Fire Pack'

'Alpha Nate Pov'

(How will I tell them this?) I ask calmly my wolf, Sam

She exhales deeply and calmly answers back (I don't know Nate, I really don't know. You know I don't agree with this, something just doesn't feel quite right. I feel like they are using us and you fully trust them without asking for any proof of the council's loyalty. I am warning you don't obey thoughtlessly, you may be an Alpha but so are they. Be careful.)

I don't say anything and make my way to the pack's meeting room.

Everyone in the room stands up as a sign of respect towards me and I wave them to sit down.

''Good morning Alpha'' says my beta Alec

''Good morning'' I answer back

''I gathered you all here today for a reason. The Alpha's council has assigned a new mission to us, which I have already accepted, that's why I expect your full support.''

''Alpha, why didn't you tell us before accepting?'' asks Matt in a heist

''Matt that's enough'' says Alec

My wolf feels proud of the gesture and I can feel Sam smile.

''The assignment that was given to us requires us to make an alliance with a new pack, 'The Blood Moon Pack''. I announce

The reactions were mixed.

Some looked concerned, some angry and others are sceptical.

''Alpha, I trust your judgment but I still have to ask. Why? Having an alliance with another pack is like getting a new brother, I don't agree with betraying an alliance. If I am correct you share the same feelings '' speaks up Alec

He always had a strong sense of loyalty.

''I agree.''

''You agree? Then how are we gonna do this?''

''We will NOT betray an alliance. That way I have found another way around it.'' I explain and Alec smiles in relief

''The contract for the alliance will only last a few months, on those few months we will NOT report anything to the council, according to the contract. We are whatsoever allowed to give information to the Alpha's council after the contract is over. That's how we are gonna do it, without going against the contract or the alliance with the 'Blood Moon Pack' ''

The pack members that were gathered there seemed at first a little bit sceptical but they soon came to agree with the plan.

''The main problem is now solved, now for the rest, I require your help. The 'Blood Moon Pack' doesn't let on a lot of information about it is shown. As a result, to make them agree on this alliance we will need as many info on them as possible.''

The pack seems to be considering my words.

''What if we ask our allies for any intel they might have on that pack?'' someone questions

''Very well, go ahead'' I say and he leaves for the info

''What about the archives from the Alpha's council building?'' another one asks but before I get to reply Alec speaks up '' On it. I will contact them immediately''

I nod in agreement

''Then I shall start the preparations for the contract'' states Matt and I nod to him as well

'The next day'

The high ranks of the pack were back on the meeting room waiting to give their report.

''We can now start'' I declare and they prepare their notes

''Who wants to go first?'' I ask

''I will'' says Matt and I nod

''I have prepared the contract, it's on your office Alpha. I have something more important to show you though. I finished the contract faster than expected so I thought to go and help the others. We went to our allies and asked for any intel they might have on the 'Blood Moon Pack' and......'' he hesitated

''And?'' I asked concerned

''We couldn't find anything'' he said and I look at him confused

''How is that possible? Are you sure they weren't lying?'' I ask trying to find reason in his words

''Either way, they didn't give us any info on that pack. To be exact the moment they heard the name, they froze'' he explains

This is weird, what kind of reason could they have to hide any kind of information from us?.

''What I found about that pack is equally unsettling'' comments, Alec

''I requested from the Alpha's council information about that pack. The only data they were able to send me in such short notice, as they told me, is a file containing brief documentation about its general information''

''Okay, at least we are getting somewhere. What did you find?''

''Briefly, the pack is said to have a full-time alliance with only two packs, one from around here and one from England. Also, they had past alliances with a couple of different packs but only for a few months.

They have kept a pretty low profile till now and haven't been in the spotlight for many years but most recently the same pack volunteered to be the host of the hunting ceremony this year, even though it was made quite clear of the fact that it does not like any ceremonies or celebrations of that kind.'' explained Alec

''Wait, did you say hunting ceremony?'' asked Matt

''Yes, why?''

''Now I remember the same pack called us almost a month ago to invite us to the hunting ceremony but I declined'' the moment those words left Matt's mouth I felt like hitting him

''What do you mean you declined?'' I asked feeling my anger building up

''They invited us, but you were away on a trip and we had no way of reaching you so I took what I thought was the most logical course of action''

''I was in England for a business trip. How is it possible to not be able to communicate with me?''

''I couldn't'' backs Matt away

Alec cuts in before we say anything we shouldn't

''Another thing that it was sent on the report that got my attention was the fact that the Alpha of that pack used to work for the Alpha's council not only that but the Alpha was a member as well.''

The entire meeting room is looking at him dumbfounded.

''The Alpha of the same pack says to have also fought countless times on the side of the Alpha's council such as destroying other packs in the name of the council....'' he stops to put his thoughts in order

''But four years back the Alpha of that pack had a huge fight with the council about something, it doesn't say what exactly but then the same Alpha simply left. Not many days later the same one fought to protect another pack from the omega attacks. They won the fight against the Omegas but both packs had a tremendous loss, the 'Blood Moon Pack's' members were killed in the battle except the Alpha and two betas. From the pack, they tried to protect only the Alpha survived''

I look at him confused and I suddenly feel the pain building up on my chest and anger for some reason.

''Did you learn anything else?'' I ask impatiently, wanting to find out more

''Well, the 'Blood Moon Pack's' Alpha with the two betas rebuilt their pack from the beginning gathering new members from all over the world. They are known for their cruelty and unforgiving nature. They don't easily let outsiders close to them either. Their pack is also ranked above most pack's even from the Alpha's council members..including ours'' explained to us Alec with a stern tone

Everyone in the meeting room fell silent, not knowing how to comprehend Ale's words.

What kind of pack is the 'Blood Moon Pack'? But most importantly what kind of Alpha rules it?

Almost instantly I feel the same weight settling back on my chest, the one I felt so many times before this past days.

'3rd person's POV'

An omega burst through the meeting room doors with haste interrupting the ongoing meeting.

''Alpha, the folder was sent and opened successfully by the Alpha's council'' he reported breathlessly

The Alpha of the mysterious pack cancels instantly the ongoing meeting and orders everyone out.

Once everyone was gone he approaches the young Omega, like a lion approaches a dear.

''Sit down and tell me what happened'' demanded the Alpha

The Omega obeyed without needing to be told twice. He then proceeds to explain the events that occurred in the meeting of the Alpha's in Russia, with grave detail.

Just after he was done the Alpha dismissed him at once and sat on his chair then crossed his hands with a thoughtful expression evident on his face.

''All seems to be going according to plan''
