My eyes flutter open
I rub my eyes from its grogginess and yawned.
I looked to my side to see a snoring Zack, sleeping peacefully.
I smiled
"I wonder... I wonder what it will be like when we all get out of here..."
As my head started to fill with nonsense, a hand gripped my arm.
I shake my head from the silly thoughts and see Zack sit up against the wall.
He seems to still be sleepy, but still fully aware and conscious.
"Well... You slept soundly...", I laughed.
Zack glanced at me and said,
"Well yeah... Because you are..."
Zack appeared confused... Which also confused myself.
"You're... Uh", he continued
I cocked my head
"What..?", I questioned.
It seemed as if he was searching for the word.
"Tch nevermind!", he suddenly jolted straight up against the wall.
Right when I was going to question him again.. I had a sudden realization...
"Zack.. Where's.. Ray?"
His eyes widened and see looks straight at me
"How long have we been asleep..?", he hesitantly spoke.
A pang of worry took over me, and I quickly get up.
"I'm gonna go get her", I spoke quickly.
But Zack gripped my hand
My head slowly turns towards him
His face was plastered with the look of worry...
"Zack... What's with that face you have..", I said, worried as well.
He paused for bit, it was as if he chose his words carefully.
"If something.. Happened to Ray... What if I... Lose you too?... I don't want it to be lonely as hell again.. ", he said as his grip tightened around my hand.
"Ray couldn't have died... She's a smart girl... She's capable of so much... I need to find her.. ", I said with sympathy and with confidence.
Zack looks down, and his hoodie hoodie covers his eyes.
There's was a long moment of silence...
And time was running out.
Zack was still in the same position
As much as I wanted to stay to comfort him..
I needed to go... Now
