"The new student is so cute!"

"He's so handsome!"

"I heard he had a ton of girls fawning over him at his old school."

"I heard he had a girlfriend."

"I want him to be my boyfriend!"

As the day continued, I heard rumors about the new student at the school more and more. Honestly, I would rather listen to Vlad ramble on about how "great" he is and the "amazing" things he'll do with the company than hear the girls fawn over how "cute" he is.

He can't be that good looking to have nearly every girl, whether they have a boyfriend or not, want him to be their boyfriend.

I was broken out of my thoughts when someone walked into me, knocking me to the side a bit. "Hey, watch where you're-" I cut myself off as I finally got a good look at the person. My heart skipped a beat. It was the new student. Shaggy brown hair accompanied by steel-gray eyes.

He's hot.

"Sorry," He apologized as he nervously placed his hand on the back of his neck. "I should've watched where I was going."

"N-No, it was my fault." I stuttered out before I regained my composure.

"No, really. I shouldn't have bumped into a lady," He said. "It was rude of me to do so, and I apologize."

"It's my fault, really." I tried to assure. "I should've paid attention."

"Are you two done flirting?"

I whipped around and met the brown eyes of my friend, Lily. Her eyes glittered with amusement and she brushed her long, blonde hair off her shoulders.

"F-Flirting?!" Both the new student and I exclaimed.

Lily raised an eyebrow.

"Well," The new student chuckled nervously. "It was nice meeting you..."

"Violet," I filled in. "Violet Wolfe." The student smiled and my breath hitched in my throat.

He's perfect.

"I was nice meeting you too..." I trailed off to let him insert his own name.

"Jay," Jay answered. "Jay Valor."

Valor? Where have I heard that name?

"Well, we're going to be late to lunch and I personally want to get some of the school's fries before they're gone," Lily said as she gently grabbed my wrist, letting me know that it was her and not Vlad, before slowly pulling me towards the cafeteria. "Bye!" Lily called to Jay and he left to go find his locker.

"Bye..." I murmured and I turned back to Lily, the amusement clear on her face. "Yes?"

"Well, I can't help but notice that Cupid has struck an arrow to the most defensive person's heart."

I glared at her before turning away.

"You can't deny it, Violet."

"And you can't prove it, Lillian."

"Whatever you say." Lily playfully scoffed. "Anyway, describe him in one word."

"Wow." Was all I could say about him at the moment.

And hot, but I wasn't going to allow her to tease me any more than she already has.

"'Wow' indeed." Lily agreed. "Okay, come on! I want those fries!"
