Shawn Mendes was like most celebrities . He was immensely talented and was crazy famous. He had it all. He got to sing and tour for a living and meet his amazing fans everyday. He made loads of money, even though that part of fame never really intrigued him he still made money. He was surrounded by friends and family all the time. He had it all.
Except one thing.
His ex girlfriend, Camila. Shawn and Camila started dating since 2014 when they met at the Austin Mahone tour. They had recently called it quits in mid March of 2018. It had been an amazing four years. Shawn loved her, he still did.
They both announced there spilt subtly. Both Posting and captioning a simple old photo "we will remain friends ❤️" .
That's all they gave the fans. Shawn needed time. He spent five months off of social media and spent it with his friends and family in his home of Toronto. No matter how much he missed his 'famous life style'. It felt nice to not have the pressure of social media.
Camila decided she would work hard on her second album. She still loved Shawn, but she knew they both had to learn how to love themselves before loving each other. No matter how much rumours said the one cheated on the other, it wasn't true. They just needed room to grow.
They still were best friends. They texted each other and talked over the phone everyday. Although the two haven't seen each other since the break up, they tried to keep in touch. Camila was still on tour and Shawn had was going to have his first interview in months.
Shawn had made it too the show. He was smiling and laughing throughout the whole interview. He knew that he would definitely ask about his break up. Shawn didn't mind talking about it, people deserve to know the truth and stop making up fake rumours that they hated one another.
"So Shawn, you know I have to ask this..." the interviewer that went by the name of Ryan trailed off.
"Yeah buddy, go ahead." Shawn smiled
"You and Camila man, tell us!" Ryan said
"Agh! We're going to dig into that!" Shawn joked and laughed so did Ryan
"We don't have to, but i think after you hiding for more than five months, we deserve to know. There are so many rumours about one cheating or you two hating each other!"
"Haha. We definitely don't hate each other!" Shawn laughed "we are like best friends, I still love her so much.." Shawn said
"The way you announced your breakup, it was so vague and just had everybody wondering, why?" Ryan asked Shawn
Shawn blushed "me and Camila dated for almost five years, I started dating her when I was 15. I wouldn't take it back but we needed room to find ourselves" Shawn explained shyly
"No I understand. You guys are still so young" Ryan told shawn
"Exactly, we still have our lives to spend together. We just realized that we have to focus on ourselves and our careers. Our relationship kept on getting in the way.." Shawn said nervously playing with his fingers.
"How was it like breaking up, how painful was it?" Ryan asked Shawn laughed
"It wasn't painful I would say, it was bittersweet. We both knew it had to happen. I remember the night we did break up. We kissed one last time and we told each other how much we appreciated all these years we spent together, but it was time that we let go of our relationship" Shawn smiled and bit his lip
"You two still talk?!" Ryan asked curiously
"All the time.. I talked to her coming over here. She is always going to be my number one" Shawn smiled
"You two were so perfect..." Ryan faked cried Shawn smiled and shook his head
"Of course we had our perfect moments, but like any other relationship it felt like shit sometimes . Especially when it came to inconveniences or us not being able to see each other for months. It was tough.." Shawn admitted to Ryan he nodded
"Will you two ever get back together, everybody want you too" Ryan teased Shawn
"Ahh, I know, I know..." Shawn sad sadly into the mic
"Would you two?" Ryan questioned
"Who knows?!" Shawn smiled and fiddled with his necklace "she will always be my soulmate, weather she is my best friend, wife, girlfriend, ex! I know we were destined to fine one another..." Shawn smiled sincerely
"That's really good to hear, we usually don't get relationships like these in the music industry" Ryan smiled at Shawn.
"Yeah, I'm really blessed to have a person like her in my life..." Shawn said
"It was nice talking with you shawn, can't Wait to see what happens with you next buddy!" Ryan smiled and reached over to shake Shawns hand, Shawn grabbed his hand and shook it firmly
"Thank you, really." Shawn smiled and got up from his seat and headed to his door.
As Shawn left and he sat in the back of his drivers car he pulled out his phone and clicked on Camila's names and typed out a sweet but simple message
"Thank you for being amazing and there for me, I love ya camziee❤️❤️"
