There was an uncomfortable silence where you just kind of mumbled a Thanks and went to stand next to tony

"Right y/n I'll give you a tour" tony hurried you away with a small smile

The tower was incredible, there was a gym, a pool and hundreds of room all serving some sort of purpose

"Tony this is amazing" you said in awe

"Thanks, I try" he replied smugly

You chuckled

"smug git"

"Oi!"

You both laughed and you turned to look at the man, for once you felt - happy. It doesn't sound like much but you couldn't remember the last time you weren't in some kind of physical pain and you certainly had never laughed

"Y/n!" Tony yelled snapping you out of the daze you were in

"Hm?" You asked

Tony sighed "completely bloody zoned out weren't you? I asked if you wanted to see my lab"

"Oh, yes please!" You practically Yelled, you were filled with excitement - tony told you that you used to draw up designs for him and occasionally help build his inventions

You were lead down the maze of corridors until you entered a huge lab, there were workbenches covered in half made inventions, designs and tools

"Woah" you breathed

"I know, pretty impressive right?" Tony's smug face smiled out of the corner of your eye

"Jesus man, how are you still alive?" you gestured to the impressive array of coffee cups, energy drinks and expensive looking alcohol bottles that littered the surfaces

"Heh, well you never liked alcohol, refused to drink it and I was never allowed to drink around you, but since you were gone.." he trailed off

You chuckled slightly at the look on his face - one of a hurt puppy

"Meh, could have been worse" you shrugged

"How?" Tony laughed and walked closer to you

You picked up a metal glove looking thing and started to look over his design of the table

"You could have joined HYDRA and used your inventions to hurt people like me, I wouldn't have lasted much longer if you guys hadn't have shown up" you shrugged and a shocked look fell across Tony's face

"Yeah i - guess" he stuttered feeling uncomfortable

"Hey man, the repulser blasts that come out of this one would burn your hand up" you turned to tony

"I'm aware" he held up his hand "I had it in bandage for two bloody weeks!"

"Welp - could have been because you messed up this equation" you pointed to the design "I know you're better at maths than me -by far, but I've seen this kind of design before with dads old weapons, you just forgot to carry the decimal point" tony  looked up at you in astonishment

"Hey, you remembered something!" He grinned

You smiled as you realised "yeah, you used to have a lab and it had a blackboard at the back and three workbenches in a row at the side" you looked to tony for confirmation

"Oh yeah, see! I told you they would start to come back - just need a nudge"

You grinned

"Come on, it's late - let me show you your room" tony guided you out and to a different floor

"This is my floor but you can share with me"

"Thank you" you said sheepishly

"No problem, and here it is" tony opened a door and you stepped inside an enormous room that was plain - it had a bed, desk, bathroom and walk in wardrobe. The walls were a light grey and the carpet matched

The far wall was just a sheet of glass over looking New York - it was beautiful in the night, you walked over and looked down to the tony cars far below

"Hope you like it" tony walked back over to the door "all your clothes are in the closet and if you need anything my room is next to yours"

He shut the door and you were engulfed in darkness
