Chapter 11

Haruka was practicing his swimming.

It was day of the All Japan Invitational.

Haruka stood up at the starting block and got in position.

Haruka dove in with precision and accuracy.

Haruka has always loved the water.

He'd go to the beaches just to swim.

He'd love it when his mother would run the water tap on his hands.

The water was a beauty that should never be tainted.

Haruka let his body move in the pool as he closed his eyes.

Haruka opened his eyes and remembered a memory of when he saw the ocean and it made him smile wide.

The Iwatobi Swim Club had been spending the nights at Makoto's apartment.

"Shizuru, orange juice or milk?" Romio asked as he helped getting breakfast ready.

"Milk in the mornings." Shizuru answered.

"Do we have enough cups?" Makoto asked.

"There's a measuring cup!" Nagisa tried to help.

"Whoa, wait!" Makoto protested.

Makoto was making some eggs with some sausages.

"What? Really?" Nagisa questioned.

"Yep. Really." Makoto nodded.

"You mean, Haruka-senpai swam crawl his first time swimming, without being taught how?" Rei couldn't believe it.

"That's right. And for about 25 meters. (Name) was really surprised. Even the swimming teacher was shocked. It turned into a pretty big fuss." Makoto told.

"That would've been before kindergarten.." Rei counted.

"That's amazing!" Romio was amazed.

"I've never heard that story before, though." Nagisa pouted.

"I never brought it up before?" Makoto was surprised.

"I'm shocked.." Rei told.

"So, basically, ever since the first time he swam, Haru's only swum freestyle." Makoto ended the story.

"I see!" Nagisa said.

"Okay, dig in." Makoto announced as he placed plates of food onto the table.

"You're a great cook!" Romio complimented.

"The toast is burnt, though." Nagisa pointed out.

"What should we do with the salad?" Shizuru asked.

"All on the same plate, I guess?" Makoto suggested.

"So, it's finally the big day for Haru-chan and the other guys!" Nagisa spoke.

"Yeah. We should leave as soon as we finish eating." Makoto advised.

"Soon we'll be able to see Chappy-senpai and (Last Name)-senpai swim in person! I can't wait!" Romio was excited.

"There's also, Rin-chan, Asa-chan, Iku-chan and Hiyo-chan, and lots of other swimmers!" Nagisa told.

'You finally made it this far. Haru, (Name).' Makoto smiled.

Haruka slipped off his swimming camp as he stood in the pool.

"How do you feel? Nervous?" Ryuuji questioned.

"Not really." Haruka disagreed.

"Good to hear." Ryuuji stated as he threw a towel on Haruka's head.
